When I use XP's native prtscrn and try to paste it into various programs (paint, paint.NET, GIMP), I get various error msgs ("Error getting clipboard data", or "There is no image data in the clipboard to paste").Interestingly, when I use Screenshot Captor, it successfully shows the thumbnail version, and can save the image to file, but copying the image to the clipboard and trying to paste results in the same error msgs. Sometimes I get an extremely grainy black-and-white version of the screen shot.I have a vague sense this might be a memory issue, because despite having the maximum memory possible installed (on a 32-bit XP install), I do always have a lot of programs running, and (1920x1200x32bits) x dual monitors = lots.Any ideas? davekelly Supporting MemberJoined in 2006 Posts: 6 Re: Can't always copy screenshot to clipboard « Reply #1 on: October 02, 2009, 04:05:15 AM » I also get this problem with ScreenCaptor.I am using Vista SP1, 4 GB RAM and dual monitors.SC reliably captures the screenshot, but when I edit the capture to add any highlighting etc I

"Error getting clipboard data"I click on Ok, it prompts me with another error2. "There is not enough memory or resources to complete operation. Close some programs, then try again"It's less prone to happen when I use alt-printscreen instead of normal printscreen and indeed when I have have less windows/apps open, and doesn't happen at all with my second monitor disabled. It didn't happen a error getting clipboard few months ago ( yes I've been having this problem since December) and I took at least hundred of 2560x1280 print screens even with 30 windows open no problems before that time.I've found the question on loads of Google results but nobody has had an answer except for disabling the 2nd screen or creating a new user account ( all people experiencing the problem are running dual screens, happens to both ATI and NVIDIA users). Also found it on this :http://www.experts-exchange.com/OS/Microso...Q_23211321.htmlBut obv.
