What happened is that the snap-in for the Puremessage console was somehow modified by this update, thus rendering the console unopenable with that error. What you need to do is create a new shortcut for the PureMessage Administration console. I am a database administrator, but not really with a lot of experience as pertains exchange servers. I am running an exchange server 2008 in my office. Everything was working fine until I had to re install the software due to some virus attack. Everything has been set up well, I believe. But when I am trying to open a remote pure message console on my exchange server, I get the following error which I have no idea on how to solve it. Sophos PureMessage Error retrieving data from the server. Ensure server / database is started and try again. I am newbie with little experience in this field, but then need to solve this as soon as possible. Any help on this, will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
