The Lavasoft Support Center team has received a number of e-mails lately from Ad-Aware SE users experiencing ISP/Error Retrieving Updates issues. An Ad-Aware SE warning reading "Error retrieving updates" was popping up when performing a web update. It interrupted at 5% download completion. This has been resolved. Lavasoft advises all Ad-Aware SE Personal users experiencing this problem to uninstall your previous version and then download the new installation file. All Ad-Aware SE Plus and Professional users are asked to please log into the Lavasoft Support Center and fill in a technical support form. You will then be sent details on how to fix the problem. But when I do so via the Ad-Aware program by choosing "Check for Updates Now", it comes back as an error. Anyone know why this is? Is the site just down or something? Or could it be another problem? I have Ad-Aware SE PERSONAL build 1.06R1 and a TOSHIBA M35X-S163 with windows XP along with a Verizon wireless DSL connection. When I attempt to update my Ad-aware definitions I get a "error retrieving update" message. I've tried turning my firewall off but that didnt help.I can't find any message in in any of the logs that I aware of so I dont know what is happening. What can I do? Thanks. This problem may be caused by one of the following factors: The Definition File on your system might be corrupt. To check, locate the directory "C:\program files\lavasoft\Ad-Aware SE\ folder." Delete the files "defs.ref" and "def.ref.old." Try to update again. If the update stops after only five percent is processed, your firewall is most likely preventing the update. To correct this, disable the firewall for the duration of the update or configure the firewall to allow requests from Ad-Aware SE to pass through. Web update confirmation dialogs are suppressed. To correct this: Open Ad-Aware SE. Click th
