client is able to download the policy from MP. Then we checked datatransfer.log and found the error like below. After searching a few blogs and scratching the head our colleague find out that the problem is on IIS default website. So he r/c on it, go to error retrieving manifest (0x800704cf) properties and check that the port must be our defined custom port 8540 but accidentally it was 80. So we changed it and restart the IIS. After that all are good. Thanks Haji alifor troubleshooting the issue . Solved Software Updates Client Stuck Downloading Posted on 2008-09-09 MS Server http://sccmissuetracker.blogspot.com/2014/01/error-sending-dav-request-http-code-0.html OS 1 Verified Solution 1 Comment 3,371 Views Last Modified: 2013-11-21 I have an SCCM 2007 SP1 environment setup with a server share DP which is Server 2008. My clients get the notice that there are updates for them however once they start the download they just sit there. If I go into the CCM/Cashe folder I can see https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/23715979/Software-Updates-Client-Stuck-Downloading.html the GUID of the updates however there is nothing in them. If I look into CAS.log, UpdatesHandler.log and UpdatesDeployment.log there are no errors. Also if I look at the package status it shows installed on the DP and if I look at the files on the DP they are there. I have a feeling it's a IIS 7 permissions issue so the clients are sitting there trying to connect via web and failed. Only error I can find is in DataTransferService.log. ![LOG[Error sending DAV request. HTTP code 0, status '']LOG]!>

As you can see from below screen, client are unable to download the content Via IIS with error code:500 which tells you that, something went Wrong with IIS. Logged into the server ,open IIS manager(inetmgr),tried to browse SMS_DP_SMSPKG$ share using http://localhost:80/SMS_DP_SMSPKG$/pkglib Physical path Drive:\sccmcontentlib is set correctly .what could be the issue ? Before I Dig into solution, first step always ,compare the applicationhost.config file with working server ( file error sending dav path C:\Windows\System32\inetsrv\config). How do you compare it ? manually checking or any tools that compare for you ? I use WinMerge Tool does the comparison.(There could be better tools than this). open the tool, input both the files(not working and working). This tool compare line by line and display the unmatched lines with Yellow Color. Start looking with SMS distribution(ctrl+F find Option) ,this is what we should look for the difference If any. As you can above,’Enable32BitAppOnWin64 is set to True which supposed to be False for SMS Distribution Points Pool. Go back to IIS,Application Pools,Locate SMS Distribution Points Pool—Right click –>Advanced Settings Change the Setting ‘Enable 32-Bit Applications’=False Note: There could be several reasons that you get error:500,it doesn’t mean, all the 500 error is causing because of this setting. Click Ok (no need to restart the IIS service) Browse the Content http://localhost:80/SMS_DP_SMSPKG$/pkglib, this time it list all the configuration files. Back to Clients,Retry the installation,it connect to IIS ,download the content ,install the App. Share this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Click to em
months suddenly stopped running fine. After some investigation, I found the content was being delivered, even though the cas.log indicated content locations had been found. Turned out the datatransferservice.log had the following error logged Error sending DAV Request.HTTP Code 500,Status ‘Internal server Error’. Browsing to the http://localhost:80/SMS_DP_SMSPKG$ also threw a HTTP 500 error. An IIS reset didn't help, so I did a quick search and found http://eskonr.com/2014/01/sccm-configmgr-2012-error-sending-dav-request-http-code-500-status-internal-server-error-datatransferservice-log/ Setting the application pool back to "Enable 32-bit applications = False" worked immediately. As to why it had been changed… an IT person was testing a new web app and decided to use the SMS Distribution Points Pool for some reason…. 00000Like this:Like Loading...
