So I erased some unrelated files and reclaimed about 150 GB. After a restart, I can send clips to STP as an audio file, no problems there, but when I try to send as a multitrack project I still get the "Error sending to Soundtrack Pro" message and "General Error". I get the same errors if I try the process with other clips in the same sequence. I tried duplicating the sequence and got the same errors, and the same thing happens with all other sequences in the project. My film is about 80% done and I'm getting a little worried.I'm using the latest version of Final Cut Studio.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 13" MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.1), 4GB Ram, 320GB 7200 rpm HD Posted on Dec 30, 2009 7:59 PM I have this question too Close Q: "Error sending to Soundtrack Pro" All replies Helpful answers by Lloyd Deane, Lloyd Deane Jan 2, 2010 8:34 AM in response to Lloyd Deane Level 1 (30 points) Mac OS X Jan 2, 2010 8:34 AM in response to Lloyd Deane Whew, turned out to be a pretty easy fix. I just created a new sequence, copied and pasted the existing sequence into it and voila, problem solved. Kudos to Jason at Apple's pro apps support line for help with this one. This article explains why when control clicking on a clip in the Timeline, in some instances, the Send to > Soundtrack Pro Audio File Project will be dimmed out and not available. Of particular interest to me was the final statement "This can also occur if you link two mono clips to create a stereo clip." If you use FCP https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2282569?start=0&tstart=0 5 and SoundTrack Pro, read this article. Duane E. Martin Earth to Sky Pictures Inc. So, I am probably doing something stupid with the workflow. http://www.calgaryfcpug.com/final-cut-pro-5/8136-problems-sending-audio-to-soundtrack-pro.html I am having trouble getting the waveform editor to do what I want it to do. In FCP I have a project with 3 sequences, each about 10 minutes. It was originally started in FCE but converted across to FCP without any problems. The 3 sequences are a mixture of clips from about 10 source files, each about 40 minutes long, captured in FCE from DV tape (PAL) with Capture Now. The source files were then broken into subclips by doing a DV Start/Stop Detect and using the "make sub-clip" menu. These subclips were then dragged into a separate folder and each sub-clip renamed to reflect the content of the sub-clip. I have had good success with the migration to FCP, using many features to improve my video sequences. The multi-track editor in STP is working fine. My problem is with the waveform editor. For example, I want to use STP to clean up some audio problems in an outdoor interview. The 3 interview clips in the sequence are 3 separate in-out selections from one of the subclips from one of the source media files, as mentioned above. The first clip with the interview is about 20 seconds and the audio is standing on tracks a1 and a2 linked to the video on track v1. I right-click on the audio piece containing the interview sound and select

It asks me to name it and save location. - Fine Opens up automitically in STP2 - I repair the Audio i - grrrreat. I go to save so that FCP can update the changes error sending and i get: Error, unable to save xxx.stap If I chose to save it as any other file type (aiff etc...) no problem. Only once - it managed to work correctly for the first clip i tried, but any subsequent clips i can't save. One other time I tried it - and the audio in FCP went offline. Checked all settings and prefs - but not sure what to look into. error sending to Could it be to do with the fact that the audio from the different clips in FCP are from the same file in the BIN? ( ie One take divided into different clips for editing?) - i don't think it should matter - but it's all i can think of. Thanks J Reply Quote Re: Sountrack Pro 2 Cant Save Project File error (January 03, 2009 11:57AM) CoolerUK Ok Here's an interesting thing i discovered about it after about 5 hours of crying. If i send the clip to STP, do my audio repair to the clip, THEN go BACK to FCP and "UNDO" the send to Sountrack Action, I can then go back to STP and SAVE the audio project. Only problem is the Audio project and FCP are not linked. But then I go BACK into FCP - SHIFT 'Z' - To bring the Soundtrack Action back again, and the clip shows as offline. Right click 'Reconnect Media', and because i have now been able to save the file in the isolated way - the new audio clip is connected back into my project, and i can continue. But this is obviously not the "Seamless Integration" that should be happening.. Any ideas? Thanks Again Jamie Reply Quote Re: Sountrack
