Win32k.sys is a type of SYS file associated with October 2012 Security Release ISO Image developed by Microsoft for the Windows Operating System. The latest known version of Win32k.sys is 1.0.0.0, which was produced for Windows. This SYS file carries a popularity rating of 5 stars and a security rating of "UNKNOWN". What Are SYS Files? SYS files such as win32k.sys are third-party (eg. Microsoft) device drivers or critical system files that come as part of the Windows operating system. Most SYS files allow internal PC hardware or attached hardware, such as a printer, to communicate with third-party software programs (eg. web browsers, word processors, October 2012 Security Release ISO Image) and the operating system (eg. Windows).Other SYS files are critical system files called "kernel mode device drivers" which are used to power the Windows operating system. Files such as "CONFIG.SYS" contain configuration settings and specify what device drivers should be loaded by the operating system. Without driver files such as win32k.sys, you wouldn't be able to do simple tasks such as printing a document. Why Do I Have SYS Errors? SYS file errors are typically caused by faulty hardware or corrupt device driver files. (12 posts) Started 8 years ago by pipo Latest reply from slowpok Topic Viewed 9650 times pipo Posts: 428 This post has been reported. i've been having this stop error for a few months now. i can't seem to trace where the error is coming from because it occurs randomly. from what i've read on other forums, possible causes might be from insufficient RAM, faulty RAM or faulty OS installation. i'm a little skeptical that it's coming from the RAM because i have 2GB of RAM and i had the RAM installed when i bought the laptop (unless the http://www.solvusoft.com/en/files/bsod-blue-screen-error/sys/windows/microsoft/october-2012-security-release-iso-image/win32k-sys/ vendor gave me an old/defective stock). i'm not sure if it has anything to do with it, but i've tried running vista's memory diagnostic tool and no problems/errors have been found. one other possible solution that i read somewhere is to update the BIOS. although, i'm a little skeptical doing it, because i've been known to muck up things like that (lol). anybody have any possible solutions or at least how to find the cause? You can fish around your Event Viewer, check to see what happens immediately before the error comes up. Reports: · Posted 8 years ago Top whs Posts: 17584 This post has been reported. Hi Pipo, Download Process Explorer from here: http://www.microsoft.com/techn.....lorer.mspx Next time the error occurs, start PE in a small window. Drag the Icon that's on top of PE to the right of the binoculars (under Help) over the error message. PE will light up in pale blue which process is the cause of the error. Give it a dry run first. You can pull the Icon over any window/message and it will tell you the origin. Suggest to put PE into "Quick Launch" to have it handy. I have run memory test and it shows a error also (unsure of the error) but advised to pull error with each of the RAM sticks until thr BSOFD stops) - I've pulled each stick in turn but yet the error remains. Also been advised it could be my video card driver, Ive updated this also. I've downloaded blue screen viewer and here is the readout from the last few blue screens; 032716-27846-01.dmp 27/03/2016 07:20:00 SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION 0x0000003b 00000000`c0000005 fffff960`00095332 fffff880`0739d080 00000000`00000000 error with win32k.sys win32k.sys win32k.sys+5332 x64 ntoskrnl.exe+74080 C:\Windows\Minidump\032716-27846-01.dmp 8 15 7601 283,224 27/03/2016 08:28:55 032516-23431-01.dmp 25/03/2016 16:43:24 SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION 0x0000003b 00000000`c000001d fffff960`00025341 fffff880`07f9ce60 00000000`00000000 win32k.sys win32k.sys+5341 x64 ntoskrnl.exe+74080 C:\Windows\Minidump\032516-23431-01.dmp 8 15 7601 287,536 25/03/2016 16:44:39 030916-27112-01.dmp 09/03/2016 10:55:55 SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION 0x0000003b 00000000`c0000005 fffff960`00062fa2 fffff880`040850d0 00000000`00000000 win32k.sys win32k.sys+2fa2 x64 ntoskrnl.exe+743c0 C:\Windows\Minidump\030916-27112-01.dmp 8 15 7601 283,224 09/03/2016 11:00:20 Can anyone start to unpick this for me, or at least point me in the right direction More about : system service exception win32k sys blue screen death error soundguruman a b $ Windows 7 27 March 2016 16:34:02 This happens when you load an incompatible driver. Windows has drivers which will run your video card, already built in.
