Operation Terminated With Error 1023
2002 1:19 am I rebooted my exchange 2000 server (all SP3) yesterday because it was acting wierd and when it came up I noticed that I could no longer get into outlook. I checked and made sure all the exchange services were running and then got the idea to look in system manager at the mailbox store. Oh no, I thought, it had the infamous little red dot on it meaning it wasn't mounted. operation terminated with error -1216 (jet_errattacheddatabasemismatch I tried re-mounting but got the following error: "the database files in this store are corruptedID no: c104173bExchange system manager"My heart sank becase my tape backup server has been offline for about a week for unrelated repairs. I have 15 mailboxes on this server totaling about 1.8GB. I just found out that my backup files (made by ntbackup) are corrupted. No current backup... (please don't flame me for not having a decent backup. I realize my folly and have plans to correct that as soon as I get through this.)When I try to run eseutil I get: "C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\MDBDATA>eseutil /r priv1.edbMicrosoft(R) Exchange Server(TM) Database UtilitiesVersion 6.0Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation 1991-2000. All Rights Reserved.Initiating RECOVERY mode... Logfile base name: priv1.edb Log files:

Newer Topic >> Dirty Shutdown & eseutil - 2.Jan.2006 8:56:44 AM steve02a Posts: 33 Joined: 2.Mar.2005 From: California Status: offline I've discovered (and you might see from my other posting http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?t=747409 here) that I have a bad database file for my exchange. Most likely, my priv1.edb is all wacko - which of course, has caused my exchange email to pretty much shut down and not let me mount the mailbox stores. Anyhow...I've been attempting to run the eseutil /r
components work together to perform required operations and keep the Exchange Database Server up.Exchange Server is not only very user-friendly, flexible http://exchange.stellarservertools.com/blog/exchange-server-error-id-1003-and-505-and-its-database-recovery but also secure email server application program. But despite having all these http://microsoft.public.exchange2000.information.store.narkive.com/3bLGOt5b/please-help-operation-terminated-with-error-1003 features it has some limitations. Sometimes, it gets corrupted or damaged due to causes such as hardware failure, jet errors, improper shutdown, file size errors, virus attacks, human errors, etc. This damage may cause the loss of very important data from the information storage and database, and destroys the error - organization's communication channel leading to huge business loss. Sometimes when working on Exchange Server you have to face several difficulties. These errors affects Exchange database a lot. Some of these effects are recovered via default commands but for some you need a commercial tool. Error 1003:- "Operation terminated with error -1003 0xFFFFFC15 JET_errInvalidParameter Invalid API parameter 4294966293″ Often it happens when operation terminated with any damage or corruption occurs in Exchange server then the database becomes inaccessible and above error shows. In such conditions you are not allowed to access sent or receive emails. To overcome this scenario you need Exchange EDB recovery. Recover corrupt EDB file, Download software in minutes! Cause of this error:- Due to missing or damaged log files or invalid API (Application Programming Interface) parameters. Resolution:- You can use following commands:- ESEUTIL/d:-performs off line compaction of the database. ESEUTIL/r:-recovers database. ESEUTIL/g:-verify the integrity of the database. ESEUTIL/p:-repairs corrupted database. ESEUTIL/c:-restore information. ESEUTIL/y:-copies database streaming file or log file. Error 505:- Event Type: Error Event Source: ESE Event Category: General Event ID: 505 Description:Information Store (2028) An attempt to open the compressed file "drive:ExchsrvrMDBDATApriv1.edb" for read / write access failed because it could not be converted to a normal file. The open file operation will fail with error -4005 (0xfffff05b). Cause of this error:- Exchange Server SP3 cannot mount compressed information store databases. This is because compressing database files invalidates sector independence, which is required by ESE to perform log-based recovery. S
