So the log file would be of 3 characters letter. To find the current log file you can click on the Storage group and check current log feild which shows the log file which is used for the database. Eseutil /r will be used for the soft recovery of the Database. Is this the purpose you are trying to use this command? Thanks..Nagaraj N Marked as answer by emma.yoyo Friday, November 19, 2010 1:29 AM Monday, November 15, 2010 5:55 AM Reply | Quote 0 Sign in to vote Hi SAMATA, Any updates on your issue? Else check in event logs for possible errors and the Hex code. How about the Transaction Logs - are they in good condition? Based on that only you need to decide the the level of corruption. Then proceed according to the corruption level. If you have latest successful online full backup, then restore it to RSG and recover. Else you can use eseutil /P which is not suggested. Occurrence of dirty shutdown is really a matter of concern as this issue is directly related to valuable Exchange Server database .EDB file. After abnormal termination of Exchange database when the administrator tries to mount priv.edb file to Exchange Server, following error message appear saying: File: priv1.STM ERROR: database was not shutdown cleanly (dirty shutdown). Further on running the eseutil /r utility on priv1.edb for performing soft recovery might end up with following series of error log: Initiating RECOVERY mode… Logfile base name: priv1.edb Log files:
