As per Ashish this event is often caused by a hardware failure or antivirus software scanning of the database file directory. To resolve this error, do one or more of the following: Restore the database from backup. A bad page link error signifies logical corruption at the ESE level in the database, and it is not safe to continue using the database. The restore must be performed using a backup that was taken before this error occurred. If you do not have a backup that was taken before the error occurred, try to repair the database. For example, you can perform a hard repair, run isinteg -fix, and then use ExMerge on the database. Make sure that you have properly configured your antivirus software. For more information, see the Microsoft Knowledge Base article 328841, Exchange and antivirus software. Even a single faulty hardware component on your disk storage subsystem may eventually lead to significant loss of Exchange Server data. Initially, these problems appear to be transient in nature, but may become worse progressively. In these situations, logical structure of your database is damaged. A typical example of such case is Event ID 447 being logged to the Application log of Windows Event Viewer as follows: Event ID: 447 Description: Information Store (nnnn) A bad page link (error -338) has been detected in a B-Tree (ObjectId: 70950, PgnoRoot: 157120) of database e:\Program Files\exchsrvr\mdbdata\priv1.edb (157120 => 296404, 296403). The Event ID 447 or error -338 may occur in any of the following scenarios: Some transactions are left uncommitted by Disk Caching and the Exchange Server has crashed. These errors are found right after the system tries to run an online defrag, but the online defrag fails and these errors come next. We had an issue with a hard drive failure about 2-3 months ago, but that hard drive was replaced immediately with a new one. There was also anti-virus software running on the server that does automatic scanning, but I have since disabled the software incase tha

Join Now Hi Guys, I have an SBS 2003 server where the customer pulled the mains lead by accident!! Exchange now has a problem where the error logs show: Information Store (5428 First Storage Group: A bad page link (error -327) has been detected in a B-Tree (ObjectId: 10666, PgnoRoot: 242097) of databade E:\Exchsrvr\MDBDATA\priv1.edb (881445=> 7474400, 881444). A bit of Googling suggests running eseutil with the /p switch may fix the problem. Unfortunatly at about 30% through checking the integrity of the database eseutil stops with the error "Operation terminated with error -327 (JET_errBadPageLink, Database corrupted) after xxx seconds". So that was news!! Question is this - is there anywhere to go with repairing this database or am I at the restore from backup stage? Further Googling recommends various commercial exchange repair tools at differing prices, but I am loath to pay for something that purports to be able to fix this problem when eseutil apparently cannot. Does anybody have any experience of this problem? All assistance gratefully received. Rgds Mike..... Now a concern with this type of error is though, are you sure this error just started happening? Apparently this type of error will not stop an online backup from completing so you would need to make sure you are restoring from a known good backup. 0 Jalapeno OP Mike6164 Jul 26, 2010 at 6:58 UTC Hi Chad, I ran isinteg as suggested and that continually brought up a single error on the "Folder Test" and no matter how
