Cannot connect to GhostCastsession 2011/02/17 plagwitz Leave a comment Go to comments Error happens when trying to deploy newer image (created with GhostConsole11) with older GhostCast software. GhostCast is only the https://thomasplagwitz.com/2011/02/17/ghostcast-error-19922-cannot-connect-to-ghostcast-session/ old program we are trying to fade out. But in order to get failing computers to start at all, and connect to the network, we need to resurrect it. 19922 is most frequent http://software.programming4.us/forums/t/136132.aspx error according to Google autocomplete. Symantec asks you to try this: Do you have the correct NIC driver specified? Boot into a ghost boot disk, exit ghost shell to a DOS prompt, type ghost error "chkdsk c: /f", when finished, reboot the machine into ghost and try connecting to GhostCast session again [this found errors, but did not fix the issue in our case. ] Can you try another image? [This fixed the issue. Version incompatibilities between images?] Recreate the image on the source machine after "chkdsk c: /f", attempt to deploy newly created image. I was hoping some folks had ideas I could try to get this image to restore.I am working to ghost 50 machines for a student lab here on campus. Using GhostCasting (multicast) I was able to gather an image that I had created on one of the machines to cast to the other 49 (they are all the same box- Dell Optiplex GX 520- BroadCom Integrated NICs).I had a heck of a time getting the right DOS driver but have finally got it from BroadCom's site (DOS NDIS 8.28 for BroadCom) and I am booting the machine up using a Ghost Network Boot Disk using MS-DOS (not PC-DOS). Everything goes fine until the file copy procedure actually commences. Client sees the server, server sees the client. The server displays the Mac and IP address of the client. When the Ghost Cast session starts, the client indicates "Waiting for the GhostCast session to start" while the server says "GhostCast in Progress". After about two minutes the client reports Application Error 503. GhostCode 19922". The server indicates right after "Connection reset by Client".Unicast starts and moves fast but about 1/3 of the way through it bombs too. Gathering through MultiCast works great- I don't know why.Things I have tried:1.) Truncated the spanned image file name so that none of the names are longer than six characters.2.) Tried gathering using a Task and a virtual boot partition. Everything went fine until the same exact point in the process where I got the same exact error.3.) Changed the SATA drive operation from "Normal" to "Combination" in the BIOS.4.) GhostCast server running on Windows Server 2003 Standard and I don't think any firewalls are in operation on this box.5.) Turned off firewall on the new XP box but it since it is not booting into Windows it should not matter anyway.Anyone have any ideas?
