Using Ghost 2004 floppy to copy the old hard drive to the new one. There are two partitions on the drive, one is the fat partition that HP stores the restoration info in, the other is the main partition NTFS. I’ve done this at least 50 times before. The ghost program appeared to be working until it got about 95% completed, and then it came up with a file ghost error name? (546) message saying "Output error file to the following location: a:/ghosterr.txt". If I try to do anything, I get an error message saying "Cannot open Ghosterr.text - insert diskette (434). Neither of the boot disks helps the problem.I rebooted and the computer is going through some process of deleting and recovering orphaned files. This has happened before, and a total re-install had ghost error 25003 to be finally performed. If so, this would generate an error whilst attempting to write to the disk. Does ghosterr.txt exist on the floppy? If so, can you open it please and copy & paste its contents. It will give us more of an idea what's going on.
