The client would always get an IP address from the DHCP server running on our 2k8 R2 machine - that was until yesterday. Now we get an error https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH109985.html from the Ghost client saying it can't find a DHCP server. Nothing has changed from the Ghost perspective - we have several USB drives for different hardware and all have failed over night with the same error - so there must be something wrong with the DHCP server. I can't think of anything that has changed with it either though. Looking at the log files in https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/aac964f5-05e5-4c7d-a7f5-e7efcbb1634d/usb-boot-device-no-longer-getting-ip-address-from-dhcp?forum=winserverNIS C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DHCP there is no mention of failed attempts to get an IP address but when I look at the statistics for the DHCP server (right click -> Display Statistics) I can see the number of "Discovers" and "Offers" going up by 4 every time I boot a PC off a USB drive. This would suggest DHCP requests are getting to the server but for some reason no addresses are being handed out. There is a Network Access Policy Server running on the same box but Network Access Protection is disabled for all DHCP scopes on that server. We only have one DHCP server. Any ideas?Hibs Ya Bass! This is a new thing we have going on. Note ... this does not happen on the DL380 G3 servers. On a DL380 G4 server, I am PIX booting up, it looks like everything is loading correctly, but then when the Ghost screen comes up I get an error message (after about 5 minutes) Application Error 19913 Unable to start TCP/IP Can't find DHCP Possible network setup problem Simple, right, but as I've said I've been able to ghost workstations and early generations of this server. Has anyone seen this problem. I had found that article at Symantec as well, but it is basically saying to upgrade drivers for the server. The guy who set this up isn't here, can you maybe help out as far as the location on the Ghost server to place the drivers? 0 LVL 27 Overall: Level 27 Software-Other 4 Message Accepted Solution by:Asta Cu2005-02-25 In Symantec Ghost 8.0 and later, it is possible to override the contents of the Wattcp.cfg file in the Ghost Virtual Boot Partition by creating a file named Wattcp.cfg in the same directory as the Ghost client (the default is C:\Program Files\Symantec\Ghost). The contents of this file, if it exists, will be copied verbatim to the virtual partition, and the current network settings of the operating system will be ignored. If the Ghost Boot Partition or a Ghost Network Boot Disk has the same problem, use the instructions in this d
