As far as Irecall, 'doze has to occupy hd0,0, as evinced in the menu.lst ( rootnoverify (hd0,0) ).Deej Offline #3 2009-04-27 15:13:06 JK3mp Member Registered: 2009-03-25 Posts: 105 Re: Grub Error 22 [SOLVED] Ahhh..i must've got mixed up. My only labels, are sda -----sda1 <--some windows default something idk wtf it is, lol. only like 4mb or somethin-------sda2 <----NTFS volume (windows)-------sda3 <-----Linux Volume , and i thought it was based off there label, like hda1, is hd0,1 , and hda2, hd0,2 etc. So would the NTFS volume windows need to be set as (hd0,1) in the grub config? Here's a bit of my situation... I have a Dell XPS 430 that came with Windows Vista and a Win7 upgrade disk. I set up my main hairddrive with Win7 on one partition, Linux on another partition, and a third partition for storage. I recently needed more space for Windows, and no longer needed Linux, so using the Win7 disk manager I deleted the Linux partition and extended the http://www.sevenforums.com/hardware-devices/233723-grub-loading-error-22-a.html Win partition using the newly unallocated space. Upon restarting my machine, I am no longer able to boot into windows, but instead am presented with the message: GRUB Loading, please wait... Error 22 I have a Win7 disk that I am using to access the repair utility, which I have run countless times. I have tried severel of the tutorials to rebuild BCD and FixMBR, etc etc. Frankly I am getting lost in all the commands and not even sure what does what anymore! Help please??? My friend installed Knoppix on my hard drive as a partition. I thought he was only giving me the Live CD to try out so when I found out it was installed I deleted the partition through windows xp computer management>disk management feature. If something is going to be installed I didn't want knoppix. When I restarted the computer, I get the Dell Logo followed by GRUB Loading Stage 1.5 GRUB Loading, Please wait... ERROR 22 Other times it will say Floppy diskette seek failure, press F1, and then when you press that, you get the GRUB Error. Dell support cannot help me, I know nothing about Linux. I ha
