that acts up and gives you a print spooler error? Sometimes restarting the print spooler service and clearing the print queue solves the problem, but it is not a long term solution. Did spooler fix it you notice if the problem happens when trying to print a specific file hp 1020 printer driver format? The issue often occurs when printing certain PDF files, but not always exclusively. If PDF files are the culprit you

can try printing the file as an image which often works in that case. However, there is a better solution. I happened to fortunately stumble upon the solution when digging around for a client http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/HP-LaserJet-1020-1022-Kills-Print-Spooler/td-p/29771/page/2 rather than having to uninstall and reinstall the printer, driver, and software as I knew the problem would crop up again. Check out the detailed solution for resolving the HP Laserjet 1020 print spooler problem. I've included the replacement drivers for download in this post in the event that they become unavailable on the other site. The short of it is essentially: 1. Clear any offending files from http://www.groupertech.com/Blog-Tech-Tips/hp-laserjet-1020-print-spooler-problem-fix.html the print spooler directory by deleting them from the following directory: C:\windows\system32\spool\printers 2. Replace the existing drivers with the ones from the download in the following directory: C:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\w32×86\3 3. Restart the print spooler by going to start, run, and typing (without the apostrophe): 'services.msc' and then press enter. Once you see the services management window scroll until you find 'Print Spooler'. Right click on it and select start. If it is already running you can restart it. 4. Restart your computer and try to print something. I cannot guarantee this will work, but it has worked for us so far so it is worth a shot. If you are unsuccessful or any bit lost, then I suggest you read through the entire solution for more details and methods on resolving the matter. If you are still lost then contact us and we'll be glad to help. ~ Michael Gavencak Comments 0 #1 gameaddict 2010-12-06 13:43 Thanks for linking to the original fix. This problem only occurs when printing PDF documents. There appears to be a complete lack of interest by HP to resolve this problem as the problem was initially reported in the HP forum over a year ago. Despite taking steps suggested by those contributing to the forum, I have not been able to resolve this issue, which is a shame considering our business purchased many of these printers for the office and the problems, unfortunately didn't start until after the warranty period expired (go figure). I don't know who is responsible, HP, Microsoft, Adobe or all parties, but it sure would be nice if someone, ANYONE could fix this issue. Does anyone have any insight into this? I've really lost faith in HP products over the past year, I feel their reputation isn't what it once was and I'm considering switching to their competition.
