Hp 4050 41.5 Error
Contents |
In the HP Service Manual for this printer (Table 7-6, Page 7-33) the recommended action for any 41.x error is to reseat the connections to the laser scanner and ecb, and then replace those components as needed. Before I do any of this, does anyone have specific experience with the 41.5 hp laserjet 4000 error codes Error on this print engine? Thanks in advance, Kevin Respond to this 1 I just lubricate the clutch. A rg5-2651-090cn lot cheaper. There is an excellent synthetic lubricant available on the site. I've rescued many a clutch with it, fixed a few scanner motors, and even a few recalcitrant

locks. Great stuff. by moe on Aug 12, 2005 at 9:09am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 41.5 is a media feed error. I do not know why they have that message come up under the laser/scanner area but it should not. First you want to try to feed media from the manual feeder and see if it works ok. My guess is that it will. Most of the time I have seen this issue it has to do with the paper tray separation roller coming off the shaft. That may be you case and then again it may not. If the paper feeds ok from the manual feeder, remove the paper tray and check the roller in the front of the tray. You may want to remove the roller and then remove the clutch whcih sits behind it. Put the roller back on and see if it works. If it does you need to clean out excess filings from the clutch by slamming the small shaft of the clutch on a hard surface so it separates and remove about 1/3 to 1/2 of the magnetic filings and reassemble. It could also be that your rollers have worn unevenly and so the paper just does not feed right. They sell replacment rollers on this site. Let us know how you make out. by dmzcompute on Nov 26, 2004 at 3:23pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I have seen 2 people talk about this procedure in the last few days... I will have to take a look at this clutch next time I am at work to see what its about.. and I am sure i'll understand then why your doing this ....and what the clutch is for ...and what the filings are for... and why removing some may help.. but for now.. can you fill me in on what that is changing to help with the pickup problem? I have never really looked at a paper tray in great detail as I have yet to encounter a problem that required me 2.. lol by Craig on Nov 26, 2004 at 9:40pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Removing some of the filings reduces the tension on the clutch and allows it to move more freely. Why this goes some way to solve 41 problems, I don't know. I only know that it does help. the hope of making it easier for someone else down the line - we have an HP LaserJet 4050 that suddenly started throwing a 41.5 Printer Error and printing blanks. The fix turned out to be very easy but if I hadn't figured it out it may have resulted in an expensive service call. My separation roller - the blue & grey roller in the paper tray - had moved out of place. I just pushed it back in place and it was fixed. Here's a page that has pictures of the separation and feed rollers on a 4000 series printer. The separation roller is part of the paper tray and is shown in the lower picture: http://www.printertechs.com/tech/mkinst/mk-4000-7feed.php Hope this helps someone. aardvark, Oct 1, 2003 #1 Advertisements sbuhrow Joined: Jan http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/25076 11, 2014 Messages: 1 Thank you so much.
