But when i press print in Word, it says "pending" in the status for the printer and the size stays at: 37.1/38.4kb and never changes, and then after a minute it says "error printing" and i troubleshoot again, and it makes it in good status again but it still does the same thing. I can print a test page, and i've tried word pad and otheres to print from there...but it still won't work. Any suggestions as to what else I can do to try to fix this? and i was asked to change the MEMORY, unfortunately 1100 laserjet does not have memory module. please i will appreciate any assistance you can render on this, cause i need to http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/17817 get the printer fixed soonest. Respond to this 1 You need to press the button when all three lights come on and tell us what lights are left on with the button pressed. by dmzcompute on Jun 22, 2005 at 1:43pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 It's definitely formatter board issue. Good Luck by unknown on Mar 25, 2004 at 6:27am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 It could hp laserjet be the formatter, but also be the main board or the way the main board is secured to the frame. Ldts do a test. Remove the formatter from the botton of the machine. Real easy just remove the screws, lift up by the side and disconnect the connectors which go to the board. Plug in the printer and put in paper. Lift up the memory door in the back and a little to the right hp laserjet 1100 will be an engine test button. Press the button and see if you get a page to print with vertical lines. If it prints, the formatter is the problem. If it does not print, you have other problems. I seen cases where the plastic posts which hold the main board in the front of the machine break causing all sorts of problems. The only way to correct this problem is with crazy glue. If all the lights come on and stay solid without blinking then you have a fatal error and pressing the big button will give you a secondary light pattern. Post it here and someone will tell you what is wrong. It can be as simple as the plastic tab which activates the laser/scanner switch breaking off. by dmzcompute on Mar 25, 2004 at 3:18pm Add comment Please sign in to comment all 3 leds are ligt on. when i press the test button the first 2 are remaining on . what's the problem? thanks - Anonymous 0 I have a Laserjet 1100 which, when connected all lights come on and stay solid.
