49 errors. Also, these errors can be just temporary errors that clear with a reboot, or more permanent hp laserjet 1536dnf driver errors that actually require a hardware replacement. Here are some tips for resolving 49 error codes on HP LaserJet printers. First, the general advice is to assume it's a http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Inkjet-Printing/laserjet-M1536dnf-error-message-quot-49-error-turn-off-and/td-p/1703229 temporary error. Turn the printer off, unplug the printer from the network/computer, clear any pending jobs from the print queue (on the computer), then reboot the printer to make the 49 error disappear. Then you can reconnect the network/computer cable and try printing again. Second, a mismatched or corrupted driver can cause 49 errors. Try to remember if the http://www.printertechs.com/printer-troubleshooting/403-49-error-hp-laserjet-all-models 49 error only occurs during certain print jobs (for example only when printing from custom software or only when printing a certain document that is more complex or memory-intensive than average). In those cases, it's very possible that a mismatched or corrupted driver has been assigned to the printer. Faulty drivers can send bad data to the printer, cause confusion and trigger the 49 error. Try downloading & replacing with a different driver; we usually recommend PCL5 drivers and PostScript drivers (not PCL6). Finding the right driver can take a good bit of experimentation. If you're unfamiliar with drivers, see our tutorial here: Installing printer drivers tutorial. A faulty JetDirect network card can also trigger a 49 error. You can test "around" the JetDirect network card by connecting to the printer via an alternate connection like a USB or parallel port, and see if the same jobs print ok when you bypass communicating through the network card. Replace the JetDirect card if needed; we have JetDirect cards here on our JetDirect page . Many of t
installed the latest firmware. Now, every 5 minutes, the printer goes through the "initializing" routine (which makes a lot of noise). The printer still works fine, its able to print from the network without issue.I spoke with HP tech support, and they're telling http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/69593 me I have to send the printer back to them, which i don't really want to do because it will cost me a fortune. Is there anything I can do to fix this?Sometimes I get the error "49 error turn off and back on", but that does nothing. I have also gone through the menu and set the printer back to default settings. Respond to this 1 The first thing I would do is unplug my computer from the network and plug that cable into the printer and see it still hp laserjet restarts. You have a bad network cable, or bad switch port. by dmzcompute on Jan 7, 2011 at 4:42pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 If it's brand new you should be able to get your supplier to replace it. by Stephen on Jan 3, 2011 at 7:58pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Ok, I managed to get the printer replaced by HP. I received the new one this morning, and this one has the exact same problem.Called up HP support, and the guy told me the hp laserjet 1536 problem was caused by the toner cartridge somehow, and that's why the printer was "initializing" every 5 minutes. He said it's just bad luck, but when I replace the cartridge, it should work fine. That doesn't quite sit right with me for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is when I buy a brand new printer, I don't expect error messages to pop up on the screen and it to be restarting every 5 minutes. The second thing is that I really don't think that is what causing, while there may be some sort of logic to it (i transfered the toner from the "old" printer to the new one), i don't think that's the issue. So, this afternoon, I unplugged the network cable from the back of it, and guess what, no more restarting every 5 minutes. Now, I have to try and figure out why the network cable or connection is causing such an issue with it.Any ideas? by cquilliam on Jan 7, 2011 at 1:15pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 The first thing I would do is unplug my computer from the network and plug that cable into the printer and see it still restarts. You have a bad network cable, or bad switch port. by dmzcompute on Jan 7, 2011 at 4:43pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Unplugging the network cable and just using a usb cable to my desktop caused it to stop restarting every 5 minutes.Swapped network cables with other known-good cables, same problem.Used different switch port on my router, no change.I can't quite figure out what's causing this,
