Hp Laserjet 2420 Error 13.01
LATE JAM" I have tried changing the paper, toner cartridge, and paper tray with one from another unit. I have verified that the paper size is set correctly on the tray. The paper feeds normally form tray 1 (the manual feed). I cannot find any scraps of paper in the paper path or anything else that looks ouut of the ordinary. This printer is only 4 months old and still under warranty. I can send it in to HP for service, but would like to know if there is anything I can do or check before I go that route.THanks in advance. Respond to this 0 Turn the printer around and lift the flap behind the paper tray. If you have a flashlight, get it. You want to watch the action of the paper pickup roller. By observing to see if it is rotating, slipping on the paper or whatever, you should be able to determine why the paper isn't feeding. A lot of times, it is as simple as the paper backstop has slid back and the roller can't grab the paper that is 2 inches out of reach. Wish I had $10 for every one of those I've seen. Since you've replaced the tray and paper, I would think you might have noticed that. Is the paper moving out of the tray at all? by moe on Jul 23, 2007 at 5:26pm Add comment Please sign in to comment Thanks moe for the super quick response. I will look from the rear tomorrow at the pickup rollers. When I was first called to look at the problem, my first discovery was that the paper backstop had slid back. I fixed it but the problem kept occurring. The paper picks up and feeds for about 3 inches before it stops and reports the jam. The paper feed is a bit uneven. Goes in a bit more on the left than the right. As I said in the previous post, swapping with another tray did not help at all. Thanks again for any help you can offer. I'll let you know what I find out tomorrow when I take a peek from the rear. - amifiles 0 Go to the link below if Moe's suggestion does not work. These are great printing machine, they only ever need the MK and on this model a fuser drive gear wears and get noisy, but once that has been done once, it is ok from then on. KIts seem expensive but they are meant to last 200 000 prints and usally do. These are one of the best most reliable printers in the market. Whenever I try to print something, it reports the error code "13.01.00" which normally means that there is a paper jam in one of the trays. Only there is no jam. I searched for an answer hp laserjet 2420 for a few hours and tried all the tips I found, including: removing all dirt and dust checking the spring mechanism in the paper tray which pushes the paper up checking the pickup roller checking the sensor flag next to the pickup roller When checking the pickup roller I tried printing a test page with the tray out by pressing up the sensor flag and I noticed that the pickup roller is not even moving. The printer seems to be trying to move it, but stops after two attempts, each of which is accompanied by a clicking sound. It then stops and reports the error message. So it seems there is some problem with the motor or the gears. Maybe someone has had this problem too and might be able to provide some insight. printing printer hp-laserjet laserjet share|improve this question edited Jul 15 at 7:30 Hennes 51.1k776121 asked Jul 30 '15 at 16:02 spyx 112 add a comment| active oldest votes Know someone who can answer? pm 0 Rating/ Voters Page is jammed in tray X. 13.01.00 error message indicates that the media did not arrive at the pre-feed sensor ( PS 102 ) within the specified time. 13.03.00 error message indicates that the media did not arrive at the top-of -page sensor ( PS 103 ) within the specified time. NOTE: The 13.01.00 error can also be caused by the failure of the paper-level sensor (PS107). If this sensor fails, the lifter motor does not rotate to lift the paper tray plate. This error can also be caused when the printer attempts to pickup media from a tray that is EMPTY,but the paper-out sensing mechanism for that tray has failed and the printer senses that the tray appears to be loaded.1. Press the HELP button for detailed information about clearing the jam. Press the UP ARROW button and the DOWN ARROW button to step through the instructions.2. Check that the paper-out sensor in the specified tray is functioning properly.3. Clean the pickup, feed and separation rollers. If they are worn or damaged replace them ALL.4. Verify that the pre-feed sensor (PS102) is installed correctly.5. Open and close the specified tray while watching the control-panel display. A short delay should occur between when the tray closes and the tray-size message appears on the control panel display. If there is no delay and you do not hear the tray-lift motor lift the tray plate into place, replace the tray stack position sensor.6. Replace the trays pickup solenoid.7. Replace the trays paper pick up assy8. Verify that the top-of page sensor is operating correctly and that the sensor flag can move freely. replace the sensor if it is not operating correctly.9. Replace the DC controller PCA.
