The three most common reasons for the error are the power source, the age of the fuser, and the fuser itself. HP Q3655A Color Laserjet 3500/3700 110V Fuser KitTroubleshooting the 50.1 fuser error in the HP Color Laserjet 3500, 3550, and 3700 PrinterThe first is the power source. because of modern technology more and more devices are getting plugged in around the work area. The result is power strips. Due to the power consumption of these machines it is strongly recommended that they be plugged straight into a wall outlet. Plugging them in to a power strip or battery backup can draw power away from the printer and not allow them to heat up properly resulting in 50.1 or 50.2 errors. Second is the age of the fuser. As the fuser ages they get minor scratches in the heating element causing it to take longer to warm up. If it gets to worn then it takes to long to get up to temperature and the printer produces the 50.1 error. In this scenario sometimes just turning the machine off and back on will allow it to get to its correct operating temp because it already is partly warmed up to begin with.Third is the fuser itself. Heck, like anything else it will go bad over a period of time. If you get the 50.1 fuser error it is always recommended that you turn the machine off then back on like I mentioned before. Or turn it off, unplug it, and let it sit
in HPs error code list but this hasn't helped. The printer is 13 months old and has been well used, but certainly not the 60,000 pages the fuser is meant to last for.I've tried to order a replacement fuser from HP in the UK, but was told that they are not currently available. I also tried our normal parts supplier who said that HP have identified a problem with the fuser and will not be making any more until the problem is resolved. Although the 3500 isn't available in the UK any more, the replacement model (3550) uses the same fuser unit as far as I can tell from the product brochure, so presumably they will make http://www.fortwayneprinterrepair.com/wordpress/2011/10/15/hp-color-laserjet-3500-3550-3700-50-1-fuser-error/ more at some point.I wondered if anyone has come across this situation before, or has any insight into how long it could be before they make some more fusers. Respond to this 0 What I have encountered is 2 machines with a fuser error where the replacement fuser did not solve the issue and the power supply needed to be replaced. This was in US. by dmzcompute on Aug 17, 2005 at 6:42pm Add comment Please sign in to comment http://fixyourownprinter.com/posts/31146 0 Usually if HP identifies a problem, then they will replace the parts that have failed in machines in the field free, but not always. If you can find an authorized service provider they might be willing to check service notes for that printer and see if there are any relating to the fuser. ASP's can be more helpful than HP.Service notes often allow out of warranty failures to be treated as warranty work. by Stephen on Aug 17, 2005 at 7:13pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Steven is correct as there is a service note on the 50.1 error where they may replace the fuser under warranty. Since the service note includes the 220V version fuser I would assume it applies in your area. You can email me at the link by my name and I will forward it to you. by dmzcompute on Aug 17, 2005 at 7:40pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Did you speak to HP tech support? HP in the UK are aware of this issue and the service ID number is 3647. You need to go back to them and get a new fuser (RM1-0430-060CN) by unknown on Aug 25, 2005 at 2:31pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Saying that, I just noticed we have a backorder of 4 weeks on our system for fusers for these printers... by unknown on
in the fuser assembly! I disassemble the fuser assemble and check it's parts. The parts appear to be OK as far as physical apperance is concern. I have no other http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/42184 fuser assembly to swap its other parts, so what i'm going to do now is to determine the defective part. If it is the heating element, thermistor or the thermoswitch! My problem now is to know the correct resistance when ohming the thermistor, thermoswitch and heating element! Please i need a help, tnx in advance!!! Respond to this 0 You will probably have to replace the whole fuser as parts may not be hp laserjet available.http://www.partsnow.com/service_today/2500.asp by Stephen on Nov 3, 2006 at 5:30am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 OK thanks for your advice stephen!!! by Anonymous on Nov 3, 2006 at 4:48pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 There is a service note as far as I know on this problem (3500 & 3700s that get 50.1 errors). I called HP & got a free replacement (out of warranty too) for our customer. hp laserjet 3500 I couldn't process the claim (we're HP Auth. center) so I called HP to get the correct note code to enter. To make a long story short it took 3 calls to get someone to setup the replacement after all the codes she gave me didnt work. The first person gave the code, so I hung up & tried it but didnt like it. Called back & got some idiot who said there was no note but I was looking at it on the website, so just hung up on him & called back. They shipped the part to the customer directly too.You can try if you want, the kits are less then $100 if I remember so not too bad.
