Hp Laserjet 4 Plus Error 41.3
plus) with hopes that my paper jam issues would be resolved. They both print perfectly from the manual feed tray, but when the cassete tray is installed, the following occurs:[laserjet 4m plus]"41.3 Paper Error"; this seems to occur just as the paper is being picked up from the cassete tray. When I first turn on the printer, I get the error immediately. After pressing shift-continue, it prints another 50 or so pages, then the error occurs again. After that, it only prints every 20 or 30 pages before the same thing happens. I tried switching back the old rollers, and cleaned the registration clutch in the pickup assembly, but to no avail. [LaserJet 4]I have the same problem with the exception that the error is "13 Paper Jam".Any assistance you provide would be truly appreciated.dj... Respond to this 0 I've been looking at previous entries on this forum, and haven't tried to reseat J205,206,207 and laser scanner connectors as advised by one of the messages that was posted a while back. Can anyone give me procedures for doing this? by dj on Jan 31, 2004 at 12:34pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 From what I remember a 41.3 error has to do with the size of the paper in tray. Since the tray itself determins the size by the bars on the right side which press in the leaf springs on the right inside the drawer cavity, I would assume one or both are not doing their job. Another possibility is the paper does not move through the printer at the correct speed and the printer think the size of the paper is different than what it should be. Two things you can try. Switch the trays between the two printers. Another is to try a different paper which has a more graining texture then smooth. by dmzcompute on Jan 31, 2004 at 12:35pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Thanks for the advice. I tried both suggestions, but still get the same results. by dj on Jan 31, 2004 at 12:53pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Do both machines print 20-30 page doucments ok from the manual tray. In other words have you ever had the 41.3 or 13 paper jam from the manual tray. If not, again there are some possibilities. The connectors on the scanner that you mentioned above have nothing to do with a 41.3 or the type of error you are getting. What may be happening at least on the 41.3 error has to do with the paper size sensor switches behind the leaf springs I mentioned. If one of the switches is flakey and at times decides to go off, the machine will think the paper in the printer is a
