Hp Laserjet 4050 Error 13.1.50
paper feed 1, paper late jam error on the Event Log. It'll jam 90\% of the time from the main tray with this error, but prints fine with no noise from tray 1 (the small upper drop down tray). Though it's reporting a paper jam, the paper doesn't seem to have moved at all from the main, bottom tray when it errors.Looking at the rubber pickup parts, they seem good as new (and this isn't an old printer). Is it still likely that the pickup kit recomended in the troubleshooting section here is the fix?Something else to look for? Respond to this 0 Wacky. I now have a HP 4000 in the same area that's reported as doing the same thing, and the error log shows the same 13.1.50 error, though this one has a higher page count: 99,000.Someone already pulled down the Tray 1 and put paper in there to keep it going. As with the 4050, it works fine from the upper tray. by unknown on Jul 3, 2001 at 8:36am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 You can't always go by the look of the rollers. The rollers are supposed to go 200K, but I've found that to not always be true. The groaning sound is a classic symptom of bad pickup rollers. by moe on Jul 3, 2001 at 9:07am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Bad torque limiter. by Andy on Jul 3, 2001 at 1:43pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 After much debate and trials, I've found (so far no call backs!), that if you replace the feed/sep rollers, separation roller clutch and the separation roller tension spring (re-install in 2nd notch)...problem will be resolved. by KenC on Jul 3, 2001 at 7:42pm Add comment Please sign in to comment Please sign in to comment HP LaserJet 4050 Buy discount ink Buy this printer More HP questions © Copyright 2011-2016, FixYourOwnPrinter.com, Inc. attempting to pick the paper up, but after a few tries it stops and gives the jam. When I open the tray, the paper is pulled about 1/2" out of the tray. I've replaced the upper paper roller along with the tray roller. When that didn't resolve the issue, I decided to replace the entire paper pickup drive assembly. (This includes the four rollers on the shaft and the upper paper roller.) This helped out a little bit, but after every 100-200 pages, the printers jam with the same error http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/1646 message again. It only does this from tray 2. The MP and tray 3 trays are printing fine. My next thought was the tray itself as I've checked all the nearby sensors. Anyone run into this? Thanks in advance!13.1 - Paper jam at paper feed area Respond to this 0 Are your trays 2 & 3 the same? If so, have you tried trading them to http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/55216 see if the problem stays with tray#2 or goes to tray#3?Good luck! by Anonymous on Apr 1, 2008 at 1:57pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 You issue is probably the backfeed clutch which sits behind the pickup roller in the tray. To test, remove the clutch and put the separation roller back on the shaft even though it moves back and forth it will still work. Try again and see if it still jams. My assumption is it will not. To repair the clutch is easy. Hit the small shaft of it on a hard surface and it separates. Remove the magnetic clutch and then remove about 1/2 of the magnetic filing around it. Put it back together, put it back in the tray and all should be fine. by dmzcompute on Apr 1, 2008 at 4:02pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Yep, they're both 250 sheet trays and I have swapped them out.I'll give the clutch a try and see what happens. Solved HP LaserJet 4050 Error 13.1 Posted on 2007-02-19 Hardware 1 Verified Solution 5 Comments 1,953 Views Last Modified: 2008-01-09 I hp laserjet have a HP LaserJet 4050n on my network which randomly keeps displaying the paper jam message 13.1. I have gone through two full maintence kits in the past 3 months. The number of pages printed since I replaced the maintenance kit is 4,586. Yet the problem keeps happening. I have made sure there is no paper jammed any where in the printer. I have hp laserjet 4050 taken the printer apart to make sure of this. The paper tray is not over filled. Does anyone have any suggestions. This happens about 3 to 4 times a week. 0 Question by:compdigit44 Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 15 Best Solution byf-king And from HP : http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=67348&admit=-682735245+1171898750158+28353475 Go to Solution 5 Comments LVL 15 Overall: Level 15 Hardware 12 Message Expert Comment by:f-king2007-02-19 Hi here is a Forum with a possible solution : http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/laser/8626 0 LVL 15 Overall: Level 15 Hardware 12 Message Accepted Solution by:f-king2007-02-19 And from HP : http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=67348&admit=-682735245+1171898750158+28353475 0 LVL 19 Overall: Level 19 Message Active today Author Comment by:compdigit442007-02-19 The HP link had some great information.. There seems to be a problem with jamming when it feeds from tray 2. I've swapped out the tray with 2 others and it still jams. I've replaced all the parts that come with the ext. maintenance kit and still issues. The paper consistently jams at the same spot. I don't know the name of the rollers, but it is the set before the paper gets to the transfer roller. There is a grey metal flat piece above it and the paper stops just before that if you're looking down into the well where the toner goes. Here is an image from the printertech page showing the transfer roller in red. I'm talking about the rollers below that. If you look on the left hand side where you can see the screw holding the grey metal piece down, just above that is the roller. Is it possible to replace those rollers? Or any other ideas on what is causing the jam? It was working fine until about 2 weeks ago, then it was intermittent, and now pretty consistent. I've removed the paper from tray 2 and it works fine from tray 3 but we have to monitor the paper level more. Does it jam when you print from tray 1? Which 13.x message does it come up on the control panel, this will roughly tell me which sensor is giving the message. I understand the paper path of this model well. I have a two 4050N printers around the house one is 7 years old and the garage backup one is same age as yours, these ones have never behav
