that acts up and gives you a print spooler error? Sometimes restarting the print spooler service and clearing the print queue solves the problem, but it is not a long term solution. Did you notice if

the problem happens when trying to print a specific file format? The issue often hp laserjet 1020 not printing windows 7 occurs when printing certain PDF files, but not always exclusively. If PDF files are the culprit you can try printing the hp laserjet 1020 printer not printing file as an image which often works in that case. However, there is a better solution. I happened to fortunately stumble upon the solution when digging around for a client rather than having to uninstall and

reinstall the printer, driver, and software as I knew the problem would crop up again. Check out the detailed solution for resolving the HP Laserjet 1020 print spooler problem. I've included the replacement drivers for download in this post in the event that they become unavailable on the other site. The short of it is essentially: 1. Clear any offending files from the print spooler directory by deleting them from the

following directory: C:\windows\system32\spool\printers 2. Replace the existing drivers with the ones from the download in the following directory: C:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\w32×86\3 3. Restart the print spooler by going to start, run, and typing (without the apostrophe): 'services.msc' and then press enter. Once you see the services management window scroll until you find 'Print Spooler'. Right click on it and select start. If it is already running you can restart it. 4. Restart your computer and try to print something. I cannot guarantee this will work, but it has worked for us so far so it is worth a shot. If you are unsuccessful or any bit lost, then I suggest you read through the entire solution for more details and methods on resolving the matter. If you are still lost then contact us and we'll be glad to help. ~ Michael Gavencak Comments 0 #1 gameaddict 2010-12-06 13:43 Thanks for linking to the original fix. partition information HP LaserJet 1020-1022 Print Spooler dies repeatedly On July 7, 2010, in How-to, by Cubert aka (Cube Dweller) Do you have a HP LaserJet 10-1022 printers and everytime someone prints a PDF file it kills the print spooler? Based on spooler fix it research from sources including GameAddict, The SDhp1020.dll was build by 2 different companies, Zenographics Inc,
Hp 1020 Printer Driver
and by Marvell Semiconductor. The Marvell version of the drivers crash when printing some PDF files. Of course the Marvell version is also the hp laserjet 1020 plus driver current / latest version so your likely to get this driver if you download from HP web site. So here is how to fix the HP LJ 1020 Spooler susbsystem error. Download the HP Driver files here http://www.groupertech.com/Blog-Tech-Tips/hp-laserjet-1020-print-spooler-problem-fix.html -> HP-LJ1020-fix Extract the files then the files need to be copied into: C:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\w32×86\3 Zip includes: SDhp1020.DLL -> as part of the original driver package SDDM32.DLL -> Zenographics Inc (original) ZTAG32.DLL -> Zenographics Inc (original) ZGDI32.DLL -> Zenographics Inc (original) The zip also has the rest of the HP driver package in it. You do not need to copy the entire driver folder, just SDhp1020.DLL. But if you want the entire package it is supplied as well. #Foot http://www.squidworks.net/2010/07/hp-laserjet-1020-1022-print-spooler-dies-repeatedly/ Note added (2/1/2012)# I had one of my techs use these instructions and he could not understand why it still failed afterwards. The reason was clear that the system he placed DLL on was a 64 bit Windows 7 box. You will need to place DLL into: C:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 overwriting the DLL that is already there. The key here is your replacing a DLL version so if you do not overwrite a DLL then your not in the right place. Enjoy Share this:FacebookLinkedInPrintEmailLike this:Like Loading... these printers is the hanging up of the spooler service. Zr.dll is pointed to as the faulting module. Error Message The most common error message is listed below: Faulting application spoolsv.exe, version 5.1.2600.2696, faulting module ZSR.DLL, version 6.20.1625.0, fault address 0×0001f979. Users have noticed that this error occurs only when PDF files are being printed. Other file formats work without problems. Only when PDF files are being printed does the issue arise. The problem is documented in the HP forums but no official HP representative has addressed the issue. Cause PCL supported printers are necessary to print PDF files. The Laserjet 1020 is a HOST based Printer which makes it unable to print PDF files. Resolution There is no clear cut resolution to this issue as of yet. However, HP has devised a workaround to the issue. Users have also come up with their own methods to resolve the error. A few of these methods are listed below: Method 1 Download and install FinePrint. Point to FinePrint when printing PDF documents. Select the printer you want the PDF files to print to. FinePrint will provide your 1020 printer with PCL capabilities. Method 2 Download and install a generic post script printer driver. Download this PPD file as installation of the post script printer driver requires this. Method 3 Follow the instructions in this Microsoft article. Inside Adobe Reader, click on Advanced. Select Print as Image. This will remove the spooler error. Method 4 Create a file clean_spooler.bat and insert:net stop “spooler” del /S /Q c:\windows\system32\Spool\Printers\* net start “spooler” Inform users to use the above every time they experience problems with a driver.
