bad. Reason is the middle green light is the data received light and always lights as the printer is receiving data or will stay on solid if data is in the buffer and something is preventing it from printing. One thing you can try is a NVRAM reset which may or may not work. Turn off the power. Now hold down the go button (big button in front) and turn the power on and hold the button down until all three lights come on solid. Release the button and the printer should then hp laserjet 2200 troubleshooting start cycling the lights until it comes to ready. At this point I would try the test page again and this time make sure the cable from the computer is NOT connected. If you get the same reaction, then the formatter is toast and needs to be replaced. If you now get a good test page, turn off the printer, reattach the computer cable, turn back on and try again. by dmzcompute on Dec 20, 2006 at 3:34pm Add comment Please sign in to comment This took care of two of my printers. The feeding 1/4 inch at a time seems to be a cleaning sheet of som e kind. I get this sheet by holding the go button for 15 seconds and then releasing. Once I did the reset on the third 2200 and tried to print a test page using the go button I get a medium pitch humming noise, that I would describe as rubber moving against something that is not moving. All three lights come on solid at this point when I hold job cancel and go the go light turns off and the attention and ready lights stay on solid.I did some searching around and was not able to find this light pattern on this site or on HP. If you could point me in the right direction on this issue I would appreciate it. - slaglema 1 The printer initialise ok then when you try to print test page the gears turns but it fails to pick the paper the paper pick gears are not turning. by unknown on Jul 18, 2005 at 6:07am Add comment Please sign in to commen

Hi All, Having a nightware with a laserjet 2200dn. hp laserjet 2200 solid red light The error light is flashing all the time. The computer tells me that the printer has no paper in it but there is? I have performed cold resets on EIO, NVRAM, I http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/25661 have exchanged formatter board, engine controller board, registration assembley for paper sensor in tray 2, i have checked rechecked all connections to every component to this printer. The only option left is the main power board, this has a wire running from it to the paper sensor for tray 2, is it possible that there is no current reaching the sensor from the board http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/18950-3-laserjet-2200-error-light-flashing even if all other part are OK? Any advice would be appreicated. Martin: One fo three things could cause that problem: 1). Fuser Exit Sensor is knocked out of place or the Optical Sensor at the Fuser Exit Sensor is bad. 2). Toner Cartridge is not being detected. 3). The Top Cover latch is not activating the switch. When you turn the printer on, do you hear the Motor running? Noise or no noise??? If you don't hear the motor running, most likely cause #1. Remove the Fuser assembly and check the Sensor flag arm and the sensor itself. Use compress air to clean teh Optical sensor.
