sure all doors closed (I even took off left side to verify no memory cards4. Verified all doors closed5. Done a cold reboot by holding the Go button while turning the unit on.6. Repeated steps 1-5 multiple times.Any http://h20564.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/public/psi/troubleshootResults?sp4ts.oid=238320 ideas? THanks! Respond to this 0 One important question? Does the motor turn when you open and close the front door. If no, then the printer thinks or has a jam. Most common place is the exit sensor for the fuser. If the motor turns, then turn off the printer and remove the left side cover and reseat the two ribbon cables going to the formatter and try again. by dmzcompute on Jun 3, 2010 at http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/67390 7:31pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Thanks for the quick response!1. Yes -- the motor does turn on when the front door is opened and closed.2. I removed the left side cover,3. reconnected both ribbon cables4. reconnected the other five plug-in cables and 5. did a cold reboot.Same result. Any other suggestions? Thanks! by unknown on Jun 5, 2010 at 5:30pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Perform an engine test. There is a test button below the formatter next to the lower ribbon cable. You will need to override the cover open switch while pressing the engine test button. If you get a page with lines, then it means the formatter is bad. If no lines I would think the main ecu board is bad. by dmzcompute on Jun 5, 2010 at 5:56pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Check the toner cartridge contact wires under the left side of the cartridge.Make sure the 2 red (to the toner cartridge contacts) and 1 black (on the fuser) wires are fully plugged in.The spring loaded ground pin inside the gear that drives the toner cartridge can sometimes stick. by mcprinter on Jun 6, 2010 at 3:23am Add comment Please sign in to comment Please sign in to comment HP LaserJet 1300 Buy discount ink Buy this printer Mo
in and the attention light is blinking. I went to this site: HP LaserJet 1150 and 1300 Series Printers - Understanding and Troubleshooting Control Panel Light Patterns. What http://fixyourownprinter.com/posts/31863 I found is that I am getting is a "fan error". I checked the fan and it is not working. Any ideas why the fan would quit working? Is there anything else to check, to see why the fan may not be working? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Respond to this 1 The other thing you may want to check is the ribbon cable which runs from hp laserjet the laser/scanner to the formatter. It is on the left side. In fact I think there are two ribbon cables. Remove them both and reseat. This was a know issue with the 1200 series. by dmzcompute on Sep 14, 2005 at 7:19pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 1 Check all the connections to the main board. Also check the sensor and flag at the back middle of the hp laserjet 1300 fuser assembly which has the wires running to it. That fuser is not very easy to replace the sleeve and I would lean towards that exit sensor as the issue. by dmzcompute on Sep 16, 2005 at 10:09am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 The attention light does not necessarily mean the fan is not working. From what I remember the fan comes on when the fuser heats. When you removed the fuser to replace the sleeve, you most likely removed the cable which goes to the fan. I would first make sure all cables have been put back onto the main board. The yellow attention light could be a tripped sensor (you tell that if the motor does not turn when power is applied), no toner cartridge, the cover interlock is not working and no paper in the tray. by dmzcompute on Sep 13, 2005 at 3:12pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 TL,You seem thoroughly confused, unless your blinking light is a secondary error, but from what you told us it's not.Attention state. The printer has an error. The door is open, the media is out, the print cartridge is installed incorrectly, or the paper is jammed.1. Check that
