computer via parallel port. The user stated that the printer just hung up on one of his print jobs. The user powered off the printer and received an error:blank screen on the control panel of the printer. The user powered off/restarted http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/forums/laser/55786 his computer and then powered off/restarted his printer...this time the screen is stuck as: 048MB****************************************After many http://www.fixyourownprinter.com/posts/69965 reboot and restart attempts (of both the computer and the printer), the problems still persist:stuck at a blank screenstuck at the 048MB***** screenI have also powered off the device, unplugged power, unplugged the parallel port from the printer and still I cannot progress past the above mentioned screens. Please help!!Thanks, Eric Respond to this 1 The blow dryer method is the same as what we hp laserjet were using on the JetDirect card. Since then, I've started heating the whole board in the over at 400 degrees for 5 minutes. That yields much better, longer lasting results. At least it has on the JetDirect cards I've used it on. Put the board in component side up and support each corner on something to keep it off the baking sheet or whatever you use. Remove carefully from the oven and let it cool for awhile. This is for after hp laserjet p3005 the service note expires. If HP is replacing the boards, better to do it that way. by moe on Dec 31, 2008 at 11:33am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 The formatter may be the problem. If it has the Toshiba chip at the top left of formatter, HP will replace it. by unknown on May 1, 2008 at 10:16am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I can't seem to find any documentation on how to remove the formatter so that I can see if it has this Toshiba chip. The manual has two entries for formatter and neither one are helpful. I also searched HP's site with no success. Does anyone have access to "HOW" to get to the formatter? Thanks. by frieste on May 2, 2008 at 9:15am Add comment Please sign in to comment Does nobody have any information on how to take this thing apart? I can't find anything in the documentation and am hesitant to just start pulling it apart. Any help would be appreciated. - frieste 0 If you cannot figure it out then maybe you need to take it to someone. All you do is remove the right side cover by pulling back and out to the right and then the open the cover over the formatter and it is right in front of you. by dmzcompute on May 6, 2008 at 6:16pm Add comment Please sign in
updating the firmware (both on the old formatter and the new), the customer is still getting this error.I have read the thread regarding the baking of the formatter and the chip is a Samsung chip. I have looked at the solder joints under a high power magnifying glass and see nothing unusual. The printer may print a couple of pages and then errors out. Sometimes it will auto recover on pressing the GO button aka the check button. Is it possible that the ECU could be responsible? Respond to this 0 Just an idle thought here - any possibility that some of these errors could be linked to a bad DIMM? by Zeb_Carter on Feb 14, 2011 at 6:30am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Is this happening with all types of files or just from on app? What driver are they using.Remove and reload the driver.Try not using a universal driver.I usePCL 5PSPCL 6in that order.Rob S by Rob S on Feb 14, 2011 at 8:01am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I am getting the same error from the panel by printing event log page by HRHPRINTERS on Nov 8, 2012 at 9:09am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 First, you pre-heated your oven to 350 degrees so that the whole time it was in there would be at that temp. The Formater board was set with the memory module. removed First then you put the in the oven for EXACTLY 8 minutes.Reinstall & Powered on the P3005, watched the display and Wait for a ready screen. by unknown on Feb 15, 2015 at 11:00pm Add comment Please sign in to comment Please sign in to comment HP LaserJet P3005 Buy discount ink Buy this printer More HP questions © Copyright 2011-2016, FixYourOwnPrinter.com, Inc.
