We are using the built-in SQL Backup for the log files http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic1401824-357-1.aspx (done to both a removable USB drive as well as an attached storage array), BACKUP LOG [MyDB] TO DISK = 'M:\Backups\DataCap\MyDB_log_20130102.bak' WITH RETAINDAYS = 7, INITI also tried RedGate's Hyperbak, but still received the same error. What has been done so far: 1) Try DBCC CHECKDISK (ran over 8 hours), no errors found. 2) Try back to different drive (attached). from being out on-site. © Blackforce February 23, 2014 15105 Database Error 15105 nonrecoverable Space sql SQL i/o error Backup Failed - Error 15105 - A nonrecoverable I/O error occurred When trying to do a backup of a SQL Database in SQL Server Management Studio you might get the i/o error occurred error :- Backup failed for Server 'SERVERNAME\INSTANCE' (Microsoft.SQLServer.SmoExtended) System.Data.SQLClient.SqlError: A nonrecoverable I/O error occurred on file "LOCATION\DATABASE:" 112(failed to retrieve text for this error. Reason: 15105). (Microsoft.SQLServer.Smo) This error is normally disk space related. Check if you have enough free space on the destination for a backup of the database you are trying to backup to fit.
