Interface Error -16434 The Connection Is Not Stable Started by digitalsylvie , Feb 23 2009 09:10 AM Please log in to reply 8 replies to this topic #1 digitalsylvie digitalsylvie Newbie Members 5 posts Posted 23 February 2009 - 09:10 AM I've been trying to use Toast Titanium 10 and get the same error each and every time I attempt to burn a disc. I've tried 5 brands of discs and the problem it the same. I'm burning with Disk Utility just fine, every time. I uninstalled Toast 10 (and trashed all prefs) and reinstalled Toast 9 and get the same error and no burn. I applied all updates to Toast 9 and tried again. Now I'm getting a Kernel Panic on each and every burn. I've been a loyal Roxio customer for many years, what's going on Roxio? At what point does the error occur? The error message you're reporting sometimes comes up when burning to certain brands of dual-layer DVDs. Is that true in your case? I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon! This discussion is locked D943 Level 1 (0 points) Q: Interface Error-the connection is not stable Ok, seems like these macs have a few issues when it comes to burning DVD's. I burned one dvd successfully using roxio toast Titanium 9, the disk was burned at best quality, and the dvd works fine in all players i have tried so far. Went to make a copy of the dvd not twenty minutes later and have yet been able to start up the burning process. I keep getting these pop ups. WHat i want to know is if this warning has to do with my software http://forums.support.roxio.com/topic/49330-interface-error-16434-the-connection-is-not-stable/ or hardware? This is also my first time burning a DVD. Any help would be great. Go figure. It would seem to be some kind of software/firmware problem since this fault only crept up since a few years ago (2007 or so) after going to one of the middle OS X 10.4 versions.Use the Verbatim. I now only use the Maxell on my newer MacBook.Any other help on this would be appreciated. My old G4 Tower is still cooking. When it does burn the dvd I can only watch it on my labtop or on a 5 dvd changer dvd player, it won't work on interface error 16434 my ps2. I am useing dvd-r. The toast error massage is "interface Error: -16434 The connection is not stable." I think its saying the dvd drive needs to be pluged in more. Please help me. It sounds like either they used a 3rd party superdrive or the didn't connect the drive correctly. If the cable is loose then a little vibration form the drive or a fan could cause a bad connection. I would check in the System Profilier under disk burning to see if the drive was Apple Shipped/ Supported or if it says 3rd party driver or unsupported. if its 3rd party you can get the model of the superdrive and do a google search and see if there is anyone who had luck with your model. I think there is a 3rd party software called patchburn that adds support for 3rd party drives. http://www.geekstreamonline.com Reply With Quote 12-06-2006,10:12 AM #3 CAMERA MAN View Profile View Forum Posts Visit Homepage Member Since Sep 22, 2006 Location Pinole, CA Posts 166 Specs:Late 2011 17" MacBook Pro 2.4ghz quad i7 16gb ram Ok we I opened it up, the only thing I am missi
