Please re-enable javascript to access full functionality. -50 Interface Error - Please Help Started by anything , Sep 12 2011 09:16 AM Please log in to reply 3 replies to this topic #1 anything anything Rookie Members 10 posts Posted 12 September 2011 - 09:16 AM Hi I am using MAC OS X 10.6.8 with Toast 10 Titanium 10.0.8 I have just bought the software I am trying to burn MPEG4 onto DVD-R and I am told this: Interface error – 50 The connection is not stable The drive reported an error Sense Key = ILLEGAL REQUEST Sense Code = 0x30, 0X05 CANNOT WRITE MEDIUM – INCOMPATIBLE FORMAT Couldn’t set up the track for writing The same thing happens with an older mac (10.5.8) using a different cable and the same software Is the software faulty?? Can I send it back?? Or is there another explanation? This error often appears with Memorex DL discs on Macs but can happen with other discs. First, I suggest choosing Save as Disc Image rather than clicking the burn button so you can get through the encoding and authoring stage without any errors. When done you can burn the resulting .toast file to disc using the Image File setting in the Copy window. You might try that with the existing blank discs you have. But I suggest getting some Verbatim discs and give those a try. I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. I just recently upgraded to Toast 8.03 and MAC 10.5.2.. I have never had a problem before with burning. I am using both an external NEC 4570-A Burner and the stock iMac 2.4Ghz Burner.. Very weird..
