Either the keyboard controller is bad or its https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/390508-keyboard-interface-error-press-f1-to-resume fuse is blown. This kind of thing used to be fairly common due to the fact that PS2 keyboards and mice have to be plugged in when the system is powered on and users were notorious after USB appeared on the scene for just plugging and unplugging their PS2 keyboards/mice when they had a problem. 0 Mace OP LarryG. Oct 3, 2013 at 4:49 UTC USB is working so you just want to get that error to stop, right? Check in BIOS to see if there is an option to turn off the notification of error on keyboard. Not all of them have it, but it's worth looking. 1 Pimiento OP Kavita9579 Oct 4, 2013 at 4:41 UTC i am not finding any option by which error can be removed. 0 Pimiento OP Kavita9579 Oct 4, 2013 at 4:42 UTC * in BIOS 1 Habanero OP Edward_Elric Oct 4, 2013 at 8:41 UTC So from the sounds of it you may have two options; 1) replacing the motherboard like has been mentioned or 2) putting up with the error message and using a USB keyboard 0 Pimiento OP Kavita9579 Oct 4, 2013 at 9:30 UTC want to ask for knowledge : how this error came ? i was running pagemaker and MSoffice files in this PC, what is cause behind it ? 0 Mace OP LarryG. I had keyboard interface error windows XP on it , but recently replaced it with Lubuntu. I used to have a PS/2 keyboard, but it isn't working now. So I replaced it with USB keyboard. The new keyboard works fine. But when I turn on the PC , the first thing that happens is that I get a PS/2 keyboard interface error. The PC asks me to press F1, after which BIOS setup appears. I exit the setup by pressing esc, without making any changes , and the PC starts normally . Is there a way to suppress this warning. (and can it be done from Ubuntu). I couldn't find anything related to keyboard in the BIOS setup. Though there was something related to PS/2 mouse. This problem is since my Windows XP days. I understand this issue isn't OS specific ,hence was a bit apprehensive about posting it at ubuntuforums, but since I have Lubuntu now, I was wondering if there is a way to solve this issue via Lubuntu. If not, whether , it can be done from the BIOS. I am apprehensive about changing anything from BIOS, lest the USB keyboard is not detected. P.S - My PS/2 mouse was also not working , had to replace it too by USB mouse. Last edited by ask_; November 15th, 2011 at 03:51 PM. Adv Reply November 15th, 2011 #2 dandn
