I have tried to install Corel 12 to Windows 7 (x64) and I have meet problem that I was not able to resolve. Corel 12 refuses to install himself reporting "Internal Error 2738". I tried to solve this problem by re-registering vbscript (recommended for Windows Vista), but with no effect. Would anybody be so kind to help me? Thanks. Vista for some reason dosnt register VBScript. What you have to do is first of all find where vbscript.dll is, mine was in C:\Windows\System32, but I think it changes dependant on your version. Next you need to go to start -> accessories and the right click on command prompt and click "run as administrator", http://forums.support.roxio.com/topic/19110-found-fix-for-internal-error-2738-install-error/ next type "cd C:\Windows\System32" (replace the dir if its differnt for you) and then type "regsvr32 vbscript.dll". It should then confirm that vbscript has been registered and everything should work. This will fix a few installs, i found the same problem with itunes as well. Hope this helps,Cheers,JamesWorked for me!Sweaty Back to top #2 walkermore walkermore Newbie Members 1 posts Posted 27 March 2010 - 12:19 AM sounds good to me Back to top #3 Brendon Brendon Digiital Guru Digital Guru -8,380,581 posts Gender:Male Location:Christchurch, N.Z. 2008 July 2008 February 2008 January 2008 August 2007 June 2007 May 2007 //quick links Jan Kolařík InstantStorm MHD Uh. Hradiště Getting CorelDRAW 12 to work with 64-bit Vista July 13, 2008 | 5:53 pm | Tags: software, vista This is just a quick tip but I've spent like an hour figuring out how to run CorelDRAW 12 in the 64-bit edition of Windows Vista. Every time I ran the ‘setup.exe' installer on the first CD, I ended up getting an ‘Internal Error 2738' message. Here's how to get rid of it: Open the Start menu, go to Accessories, right click the Command Prompt icon, and select ‘Run as administrator'. Type the following lines: C:\Windows\SysWoW64\regsvr32.exe C:\Windows\SysWoW64\vbscript.dll
C:\Windows\SysWoW64\regsvr32.exe C:\Windows\SysWoW64\jscript.dll That's it. I hope this will work for you. Oh, wait, there's another tip. Stay away from automatic CorelDRAW 12 updates in 64-bit Vista, just stick with the version that came out with the CDs. It will probably slow down the program. Any ideas? Bullfrog: May 11, 2009 | 1:46 am A dead drive prompted my upgrade to a Vista machine. I dreaded that much of my old software would not work. It was nice to see Draw 12 working. Do you know what those cmd lines did? Might it help with other applications? Thanks. Interestingly, Draw and PhotoPaint did not show up in the Start menu, so I needed to add them manually. David G: March 4, 2009 | 2:55 pm Thanks it worked great Tomáš Fejfar: February 19, 2009 | 9:46 pm Thank a lot.
