I recently re-installed windows and am now trying to install the DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010). All goes well, it installs everything, but as it finished I get this error: I have tried redownloading, using other installers and updating my graphics drivers. Nothing will work. It's probably worth mentioning that the first time I tried installing, about a week ago, http://www.sevenforums.com/software/203092-directx-install-error-internal-system-error-occurred.html my computer totally froze in the middle of the install and I had to force restart. The 1st thing I would suggest would be to run the System Files Checker. SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker See if it finds and corrects any errors. Also, see if you locate the 2 dx logs mentioned, in the windows directory, and post them here, or just the text if they are short, which they may well be. The How-To Geek Forums Have Migrated to Discourse How-To Geek Forums / Windows XP (Solved) - Install DirectX 9.0c to pass the windows logo test; need the digital signature (9 posts) Started 4 years ago by JamesTKirk Latest reply from Hermitt Topic Viewed 3005 times JamesTKirk Posts: 143 This post has been reported. Hello Hello Everybody, I've been waiting to post this, lookin' for the geeks forum, because I sure haven't figured this part out. So here's the situation: I tried to install DirectX 9.0c two times from two separate download locations and files. Both installations failed with the error message of, "The software you are installing has not passed windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP. This sofware will not be installed. Contact your system Administrator." Just because, I installed it three more times. But with the same disappointing results. What is a system administrator, and how do I contact them? What do they do? And will this help to solve the problem? Setup: "An internal system error occurred. Please refer to DXError.log and DirectX.log in your windows folder to determine problem." I looked at the log files and I don't see how this can help me. It doesn't tell me anything that I already don't know!!! Installation end. Installation failed. I Need the DirectX 9.0c Digital Signature from the "Designed for Microsoft Windows" logo, which seems to be a device driver I guess. It has to pass the window's logo test to be able to install ---James T Kirk Reports: · Posted 4 years ago Top warlock Posts: 4100 This post has been reported. http://www.nidokidos.org/threa.....-Into-Safe Read this. Problem Solved -- Thanks for your reply Warlock. I appreciate that you also included a link! That was very informative. I didn't know that you would see the "system administrator" if you logged in with safe mode, and only see adminisitrator when you use the computer normally! How very interesting. Thanks for your help and
