The exact error code they get is "The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2356". This is a Windows error, and means "Could not locate cabinet in stream". My software was built using Advanced Installer, and installs fine on other machines. I am trying to find all possible causes for this, before I go back to the client. So far, I have found posts where this is caused by 32/64 bit merge module problems Corrupted install file Are there any other causes that you guys know of? It might be worth noting that my client's machine language is (probably) Finnish, whilst the machine I build on is English. windows-installer advanced-installer share|improve this question asked Jun 21 '11 at 9:21 Craig Blaszczyk 7031513 Are you using a mixed 32/64-bit package? If so, does this happen when using a 32-bit package instead of a mixed one? Also, can you reproduce this on other machines? –mrnx Jun 21 '11 at 10:49 That was one of the first things I checked, but not the problem. I have only a 32bit package. –Craig Blaszczyk Jun 21
Access, using Access 2002. I have run msiexec on the AccessRT.msi and the Office1.cab file (Access 2002 appears to use Office1.cab and not AccessRT.cab like 2003 does). Anyway, I then change the Media Table in the msi file as per the instructions. I change the value to #Office1.cab (I check the case, because the # makes the cabinet name case sensitive). I then change the name of the cab file to Office1.ca_ again following the directions in the white paper. When I run the AccessRT.msi file I get the error 2356 - [Could not locate cabinet in stream [2] ] What am I doing wrong and how do I correct this? The folder I do all of http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6423016/windows-error-2356 this in is D:\fBlds\v346\Access2002. Thanks again: Dex Top Error 2356 in AccessRT.msi by Dex Erntwi » Mon, 11 Apr 2005 09:48:22 Opps... I meant that I ran MSIdb.exe (and not msiexec) on the AccessRt.msi and the Office1.cab - Top Error 2356 in AccessRT.msi by Paul Overw » Mon, 11 Apr 2005 12:01:44 Dex: The example in the whitepaper was with the Access 2003 RT, so, you're going to need to do some http://www.yqcomputer.com/4_734_1.htm sleuthing yourself here. I don't even have the Access 2002 RT on my PC anymore. However, does it appear that the cab was actually added to the MSI, i.e., did the MSI size change? Also, there are multiple cabs associated with the Access 2002 runtime and a lot of service packs, which is why I avoided working with it myself....not that it couldn't be done. Did you add all of the necessary cabs? I suspect it is looking for the other cab. -- Paul Overway Logico Solutions http://www.yqcomputer.com/ Top Error 2356 in AccessRT.msi by Dex Erntwi » Mon, 11 Apr 2005 22:17:58 Paul: I also did the whole procedure with the Access 2003 runtime. I get the exact same error message when I do this with Access 2003. The following all concerns Access 2003. Running MSIDB.EXE increased the AccessRT.msi to 36,048 kb. Error 2356 - [Could not locate cabinet in stream [2] ] indicates that the script could not find the AccessRT.cab file. The process works okay if I do NOT change the cabinet value in the Media Table of the AccessRT.msi. (but by not changing it, the Installer2Go does not add the AccessRT.cab to the distributable and it fails, so I must add the change (#AccessRT.cab) to the msi. In other words, if I just run the msidb then everything works great. When I change the ca

Email: david.sharp{at}imperial.ac.uk. Next Section Abstract Errors trigger changes in behavior that help individuals adapt to new situations. The dorsal anterior cingulate cortex (dACC) is thought to be central to this response, but more lateral frontal regions are also activated by errors and may make distinct contributions. We investigated error processing by studying 2 distinct error types: commission and timing. Thirty-five subjects performed a version of the Simon Task designed to produce large number of errors. Commission errors were internally recognized and were not accompanied by explicit feedback. In contrast, timing errors were difficult to monitor internally and were explicitly signaled. Both types of error triggered changes in behavior consistent with increased cognitive control. As expected, robust activation with
