Re: Installation Hangs--Internal Error 2381.D:\ midwest Jun 21, 2006 3:21 PM (in response to midwest) I don't know if it is related, but VMWare doesn't like the D: partition on my server at all and seems to be concerned with the user permissions. the user for installation and the vm login itself have full permissions on the D: partition (which I verified by creating a folder, a file, and then deleting both), but VMWare is convinced that is not the case. I tried installing as local Administrator, but the exact same problems occurred.I somewhat solved the problem by installing ONLY the main server component and having it install to

Contact us about this article I am running VMware Server on RedHat Linux Enterprise 4.0. I created a Virtual Machine on VMware, running MS Windows XP Professional and am running an MS Windows application in the MS Visual Studio 2005 Development Environment that needs to poll the PC for an IEEE-1394 FireWire Interface and it does not seem to be able to recognize that that the 1394 port actually exists. 0 0 06/08/06--09:40: VMWare server locks up VM and flashes lights on keyboard Contact us about this article I have the latest 24xxx build of Server and this always seems to happen after one of the 4 VMs boots up on a one CPU Dell PowerEdge 1800. I've not seen this before on 23xxx build. What happens is 3 VMs would be running and a 4th would boot up. One of the 3 VMs would then lock up. When I move the mouse over the VM, my keyboard flashes two lights. This seems to be some kind of halt/trap signal. What does this mean? Message was edited by: AllenL 0 0 06/14/06--17:1
