Visual Studio .NET Installation: Internal Error 25003 Problem: When installing Visual Studio .NET off CD-ROM or DVD-ROM the installation aborts with the following error message: Internal Error 25003 This occurs when a problem occurs reading from the CD-ROM drive. The error handling is rather poor (does anybody still remember the infamous "Bdos Err On A: Bad Sector" message on CP/M 2.2 more than 20 years ago?) Solution: There are two workarounds: Install from a CD-ROM drive in a different machine, mapping a drive letter via the network. For example, if D: is your local CD-ROM drive and your other machine ("\\machine") shares it's CD-ROM drive as "r", map a drive letter F: c:>net use f: \\machine\r and then install off drive letter f: Copy the CD ROMs to a hard disk folder anywhere in the network and install off the hard disk copy. This is explained in the following Microsoft KnowledgeBase article: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=307372 Further reading: HOW TO: Create a Network Installation Point for Visual Studio .NET Setup

The server is a clone of another https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/25043815/Internal-Error-25003-when-installing-VS-NET-2003-Enterprise-Developer.html server. After the cloning I have successfully installed VS .NET 2003 on the original server. (There has different activity on both servers after the cloning, but none I see relevant for having this problem). I am installing the files from the hard drive. After have chosen what to install in the setup start, after a few seconds it halts and a pop up message appears with the message "Internal Error 25003" (Attached image: InternalError.jpg). When I press OK, one more pop up message appears with the same message. After pressing OK again I get the Setup Failed page (Attached image: setupFailed.jpg). I have looked through the error (Attached file: vserror71.txt) and installation (Attached file: vsinstall71.txt) log to find the problem. I have searched on internet for a solution, but I have not got it working yet. I have also looked at the original and the cloned server for any differences, especially security settings on folders that might be relevant to the instal

I need help installing visual studio .net enterprise architect. After it generates the script and then says executing "createVSDevgroup" and then the internal error 25003 comes up twice. Microsoft say its the CD-ROM drive or whateva but its not cause its an .ISO image file. I have used UNDISKER to check the image as well as extract it and it says everything is perfect. I am running windows 2000 PRO with service pack 4 and the latest software updates. There is enough room for install, i have all access priviledges since im admin and i have 320 MB of RAM. I urgently need assistance in installing this program and a new download is out of the question since i dont have broadband only 56K. Please help me quickly. Best reguards Johno. If so, would you mind passing along the assistance? Thanks much! dmartinage, Apr 17, 2004 #2 Johno2518 Thread Starter Joined: Aug 2, 2003 Messages: 2 All i did was downloaded the file again from a different site...however if you look at certain Warez sites they can give you a direct link to download the full version on microsofts site. I guess microsoft wants everyone to gain full access to this program. But yes, if you find a warez site look for it and you should find a direct download link to M$ site and can officially download it for free and full version as well. Hopefully this helps Johno2518, Apr 17, 2004 #3 This thread has been Locked and is not open to further replies.
