I'm unable to upgrade vCenter Server to 4.1 with out first uninstalling Guided Consolidation server.any ideas?this vCenter server is for our DR Site, no real VM's or ESX hosts on it yet, however I have upgraded the Production side of the link to 4.1 already.i guess i could kill the link and just uninstall everything or format and start new, but that's pretty drastic.i do have SRM installed but not really setup betwen the two sites yet. 1179Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Re: vCenter Server upgrade 4.1 - Unable to uninstall Guided Consolidation component PFS Sep 9, 2010 10:48 AM (in response to kcucadmin) I am having the same exact problem and this is our production system. It may have something to do with me trying to install Converter Standalone on the system awhile back. I could just remove the link in the registry from the add/remove but I don't know if will affect my attempt to upgrade to 4.1. Anyone? Like Show 0 Likes (0) Actions 4. Re: vCenter Server upgrade 4.1 - Unable to uninstall Guided Consolidation component PFS Sep 9, 2010 3:44 PM (in response to PFS) Solved, had to turn off the plugin in vCenter 4.0 then run msiexec /x{3C8A92EA-74B1-442F-B853-66BF305E5530} from a commandline (
27 March, 2008 When updating VMware Tools the setup constantly bailed out without a decent error. So I decided to un-install the Tools and install them again. Un-installing went smooth but when installing it again I ended up with the error "internal error 2203". After googling this error the Citrix website gave me the solution, check your tmp and temp environment variables. Indeed both variables pointed out to the CD-Rom player for some strange reason. I changed it to c:\temp and the installation of VMware Tools went smooth… Share it:TweetPocket Related Filed Under: ServerComments Clint Eschberger says 28 March, 2008 at 13:31 Wow, I had not came across that, but played around with it this https://communities.vmware.com/thread/283575?start=0&tstart=0 morning and was able to re-create it on my test box. Good to know where you are planning on doing hundreds 😉 Rich says 31 March, 2008 at 11:10 Just curious, but did you ever figure out why or how the variables were changed to the cdrom? Duncan Epping says 31 March, 2008 at 11:30 No clue, i did not initially install this server. So it might just be http://www.yellow-bricks.com/2008/03/27/installing-vmware-tools-fails-with-internal-error-2203/ a mistake by the original engineer. David @ Powerbits says 27 May, 2008 at 23:12 Didn't have the temp to CD problem, but I was getting the error. My temp was pointing to …\Local Settings\temp. I cleaned out the existing VMWare-* folders and install was successful. Thanks for the tip. Nicolás Briones says 11 June, 2008 at 18:36 Just to extend a little bit the solution. I had been googling around and end here. Through my search, i see that all related problems to "error 2203" has a common source: an application was trying to write on the temp directory, and it couldn't. There is two reasons and solutions: 1. Look if your user and SYSTEM user has full control over C:\WINDOWS\Temp and C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local settings\Temp 2. Look your tmp and temp environment variables. The system ones should be pointing to C:\WINDOWS\Temp. The user ones, should be pointing to C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local settings\Temp Damon Morse says 3 October, 2008 at 16:00 How do you check to see if user and SYSTEM has full control?? Im not really computer savvy so the more information given would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Duncan Epping says 3 October, 2008 at 19:58 Right click on the folder, click on pro
environment in my lab. Nothing fancy, but all you need to show what Horizon View can do for you. This environment includes a Windows Server 2012 R2 RDS host. During the update process from Horizon https://www.vcloudnine.de/vmware-horizon-view-agent-update-on-rds-host-fails-with-internal-error-25030/ View 6.1.1 to 6.2, I had to update the View agent on this RDS host. This update installation failed with an "Internal Error 25030", followed by a rollback. Fortunately I had a snapshot, so I went https://kadenkaigi.com/entry/64168573 back to the previous state and tried the update again. This attempt also went awry. To make a long story short: Read the fscking release notes! This quote is taken from the Horizon View 6.2 release notes: internal error When you upgrade View Agent 6.1.1 to View Agent 6.2 on an RDS host running on Windows Server 2012 or 2012 R2, the upgrade fails with an "Internal Error 25030" message. Workaround: Uninstall View Agent 6.1.1, restart the RDS host, and install View Agent 6.2. And this is not the first time that this error occurred. I found this quote in the the Horizon View 6.1.1 release notes: When you upgrade View Agent internal error 25030 6.1 to View Agent 6.1.1 on an RDS host running on Windows Server 2012 or 2012 R2, the upgrade fails with an "Internal Error 25030" message. Workaround: Uninstall View Agent 6.1, restart the RDS host, and install View Agent 6.1.1 If you take a closer look at these two statements, you might notice some similarities… But I do not want to be spiteful. The workaround did the trick. Simply uninstall the View agent (if it's still installed after the rollback… that was not the case with me), reboot and reinstall the View agent.
