Thank you. jay25oct 1 year ago have same error but cant fix with this method. Internal Error 2765. File317. any suggestions? kboneill 10 months ago last edited 10 months ago Find the file in the WiseSourcePath table and change the attribute to 16. Then find the file in the MsiAssembly table and delete the row. That is an alternate way to do the same thing. It works Please log in to comment Community Chosen Answer 4 Cause The attributes in the WiseSourcePath table indicate that the [problem] files are .NET assemblies. Resolution Summary 1. Go to the Setup Editor > Tables > WiseSourcePath table 2. The Attributes column for the [problem] files should currently be 8. Change the attributes column for these three entries to 16 3. Go to the Files page 4. Double-click on each of the [problem] files, go to the Assembly tab and change the Assembly Type to None. 5. Compile the installation. This time when you compile, the Assembly Type should remain None even if the Rescan Com interop registry keys on compile option is selected Answered 10/24/2007 by: Chiun Please log in to comment kboneill 4 years ago last edited 3 years ago Excellent post. Exactly right. Thank you!!! You saved me a LOT of time chasing that one. maros141 3 years ago Very useful. Thanks jnoxon1 3 years ago Thank you. This helped me. Head_Scratcher 1 year ago Sweet! Answers 0 I have found a faster way.Delete the whole table WiseSourcePath, or at least the files with attribute 8.Then delete the whole table MSIassembly, you don't have to change the files themselves. 2008 by leereid In repackaging an internally developed application that requires .NET Framework 2.0 SP1 and 3.0, I came across this error 2765. Here's what I did and how I got around it: I installed .NET Framework 3.5 on the machine Performed a setup capture in Wise of the installation Completed that, then edited what I needed to in Wise, compiled the installation. Running the install gave Internal error 2765 : KO.dll (for example) This page suggested to remove items from the MsiAssembly table if they didn’t have entry in the MsiAssemblyName table. Doing this in Wise didn't work as the entries were put back in on compilation, so I opened the msi in http://www.itninja.com/question/help-with-msi-2765 Orca and created a transform, then removed the rows from there. This installation then completed, although I'm not aware of any other consequences of removing these items. Like this:Like Loading...
