Existing reports do not use these sets but get internal error an effected by their inclusion in the cube. It appears that by creating a certain date set to work out sets relative today, my existing reports using date hierarchies started throwing this error. Seems like a bug to me. Raised with microsoft: http://www.connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=520986 It eventually caused the SSAS service to crash. Just documenting for any other soul who encounters the issue. The eventual fix was to move from using dynamic to static sets which are a new feature of 2008. UPDATE *** Just got notified the fix is in SP1 cumulative update 8 **** 01/7/2010 Published Thursday, December 17, 2009 4:39 PM by blakmk Filed under: Sql Server, SSAS Comments No Comments
