Internal Error Cannot Find The Poolmanager Reference
Managed Connection: java.lang.IllegalState Technote (troubleshooting) Problem(Abstract) You implemented a new application in WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and you receive the following message in the WAS servant task: J2CA0056I: The Connection Manager received a fatal connection error from the Resource Adapter for resource MQJMS2007: failed to send message to MQ queue J2CA0020E: The Connection Pool Manager could not allocate a Managed Connection: java.lang.IllegalState ... The only way to solve this problem is to restart the WAS server. Cause The configuration is WebSphere Application Server for z/OS V7 which connects to a WebSphere MQ for z/OS V6 queue manager in BINDINGS mode. The first few lines at the top of the stack trace for the J2CA0020E error look like this: J2CA0020E: The Connection Pool Manager could not allocate a Managed Connection: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Internal Error: cannot find the PoolManager Reference. at com.ibm.ejs.j2c.ConnectionManager. allocateMCWrapper(ConnectionManager.java:1007) at com.ibm.ejs.j2c.ConnectionManager. associateConnection(ConnectionManager.java:2335) at com.ibm.ejs.jms.JMSSessionHandle. getOpenSession(JMSSessionHandle.java:1310) at com.ibm.ejs.jms.JMSSessionHandle. getOpenUnifiedSession(JMSSessionHandle.java:1339) at com.ibm.ejs.jms.JMSSessionHandle. createTextMessage(JMSSessionHandle.java:507) at my.application.log.impl.JMSQueueAppender$1. run(JMSQueueAppender.java:246) : : : : : : : : : : : : This indicates that the method: my.application.log.impl.JMSQueueAppender$1.run() is trying to create a JMS Text Message from a JMS Session. As part of this processing, the application server's Connection Manager is invoked to try to assign this particular application thread a JMS Session to use. To do this, the Connection Manager tries to access the JMS Session Pool being used by this thread, and finds that it is no longer accessible. Now, in WebSphere Application Server, there is one JMS Session Pool for each JMS Connection that has been defined. The Session Pool is crea
Server TroubleShootingDocument; TroubleShootingFlowDocument Technote (troubleshooting) Problem(Abstract) Troubleshooting for connection pooling problems in IBM WebSphere Application Server. This should help address common issues with this component before calling IBM support and save you time. Note: The troubleshooting steps in this document are applicable to JDBC connection problems using a standard data source in WebSphere Application Server. This document is not applicable to Version 4 data sources. You can also use this document for troubleshooting JMS connection problems and enterprise information system (EIS) http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21515802 connection problems. Resolving the problem Tab navigation Learn more Troubleshoot- selected tab, Collect data Steps to help resolve connection pooling problems Are you having a problem using a data source to establish a JDBC connection to a database? Most exceptions that occur when a data source is used to connect to a database will have the com.ibm.ws.rsadapter package in http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21247168 the stack trace of the exception. This includes java.sql.SQLExceptions and WebSphere Application Server messages that begin with DSRA. Yes, go to the Troubleshooting JDBC connection problems section. No, continue to question 2. Are you having a problem using a JMS connection factory to establish a JMS connection to WebSphere MQ or another messaging system? Most exceptions that occur when a connection factory is used to connect to a messaging system will have the com.ibm.ejs.jms package in the stack trace of the exception. This includes javax.jms.JMSExceptions and WebSphere Application Server messages that begin with WMSG. Yes, go to the Troubleshooting JMS connection problems section. No, continue to question 3. Are you seeing J2CA0045E errors withConnectionWaitTimeoutExceptions or slow performance in getting a connection? Yes, go to the Troubleshooting connection wait issues, connection leaks, and performance problems section. No, continue to question 4. Are you seeing StaleConnectionExceptions or having problems recovering from invalid, or stale, connections in the pool? Yes, go to the Troubleshooting stale connection problems section. No, continue to question 5. Go to the Miscellaneous connection pooling prob
