You may safely ignore this error, as it is raised only after the database has been closed. No action or corrective steps on the part of the DBA are required. The condition that causes this error to be raised is caught and handled starting in 11.1.0.6. No patches available Although the occasional appearance of this error on instance shutdown is messy and annoying, it is not harmful in any significant way. Accordingly, Oracle has provided no patch for this bug on any platform. Bug is fixed in 11.1.0.6. We're getting this error sporadically after we migrated to 64-bit 10g R2, never received the error before (on 32-bit OS/RDBMS).
