Internal Error During Proxy Evaluation Citrix
Fri, 21 Nov 2003 09:55:40 -0500 This is the error that a few clients have gotten when connecting to CSG 2.0. " Proxy connection failed: Internal error during proxy evaluation. " Per Citrix, this is because the client's ISP is using a proxy. There is no resolution. Anyone have any different opinions? _____ Brian Claus, A+, Network+, MCP Network Administrator WESCO Distribution, Inc. 225 West Station Square Drive, Suite 700 Pittsburgh, PA 15219-1122 Phone: 412-454-2412 Fax: 412-454-2540
Date: Fri, 21 Nov 2003 10:50:07 -0500 MessageBrian, Whether or not the client's ISP is using a proxy, it looks like PN is convinced that there is one. Trouble is, it can't determine what it should be (or can't reach the one it thinks should be used). If PN didn't think there was a proxy and the ISP actually used one, I believe you'd get the error "Citrix server not accepting connections" or some other error http://www.freelists.org/post/thin/Proxy-connection-failed-Internal-error-during-proxy-evaluation saying that the Citrix server could not be contacted. I would try the following at the client: 1. Uninstall PN, wiping out all residual files and registry entries. 2. Make sure all web browsers are configured for manual proxy settings, NO proxy. 3. Reboot. 4. Reinstall PN. Actually, it's been for a few internal error days. I'm not entirely sure if I've used Ubuntu for Citrix stuff. Anyway, whenever clicking on a connection on the Citrix web interface, the webica application would fail with this error: "Proxy connection failed: Internal error during proxy evaluation" As I don't use a proxy, internal error during this was a little odd. After searching on the Citrix forums, I found this nugget which resolves the issue: Open up the terminal window cd mkdir .netscape cd .netscape gedit preferences.js In the editor, type: user_pref("network.proxy.http","");
user_pref("network.proxy.http_port", 80);
user_pref("network.proxy.type", 0); Save the file Now, when you click on the Citrix icon, you should connect with no issue. If you do happen to use a proxy server, change network.proxy.type to 1, and enter the relevant proxy details in the other lines. No related posts. Im trying to use the Linux version of the Citrix ICAClient. I had to have openmotif and libXwm installed and then ln -s /usr/lib//libXaw7.so.7.0.0 /usr/lib/libXaw.so.6 and ln -s /usr/lib/ICAClient/npica.so /usr/lib/firefox-2.0.0.10/plugins/ Now the client starts up and displays the error: proxy connection failed internal error during proxy evaluation Any ideas? mattywix20th March 2008, 04:04 PMOk so I deleted my symlink /usr/lib/libXaw.so.6 and instead did the following: yum -y install libXaw-compat.i386 Then edit myfirefox profile eg for me eg ~/.mozilla/firefox/3a7iymlr.default/prefs.js set: user_pref("network.proxy.http",""); user_pref("network.proxy.http_port", 80); user_pref("network.proxy.type", 0); Otherwise I get the error "proxy connection failed internal error during proxy evaluation" However with all that the client gets to the point where I see the message "Connected to server" and then the client dissapears without a trace.
