Basic Troubleshooting Update Your Video Card Drivers The most common cause of this error is out of date or corrupted video card drivers. Please make sure your video card drivers are up to date. You may also consider reinstalling your video card drivers if the game previously worked correctly on the same hardware you are using now. Detailed instructions on the best method for updating or reinstalling video drivers can be found in the Updating Drivers Guide. Check Your Video Settings If you are using advanced features such as anti-aliasing, motion blur or HDR, try changing the setting recommended by the game engine to something lower in order to test the issue. For example, if you are currently using "Anisotropic Filtering 2x", try setting it to "Trilinear Filtering" and see if there is a difference in stability. All of these options can be found in the "advanced" section of your video settings in the game's menu. Check Your Firewall Settings If there are multiple instances of Steam.exe, HL2.exe or any other executable files related to Source games, these all need to be given permission in your

Page 4 of 4 < Prev 1 2 3 4 dbjrhsd Guest BTW, I have a Geforce, so it's not limited to ATI. Your "fix" is most likely a coincidence; it "fixed itself" at times http://www.valvetime.net/threads/internal-driver-error-in-idirect3ddevice9-present.72866/page-4 on my machine too. Looks like it's pretty random, or maybe that just a small delay/error can at some point screw the whole game up. Anyway, I noticed that HL2/Source does not take kindly to other applications running in the background, i.e. multitasking. As much as I like the graphics and the physics, these kinds of little problems are practically non-existent in other engines like Doom 3 or the UT2004 engine. #121 dbjrhsd, Feb 3, 2008 nurizeko Newbie Joined: Nov 7, 2007 Messages: 2,944 Likes Received: 0 It gave me allot of grief last night on he Synergy mod, but I was playing allot yesterday and I didn't get a single error during the afternoon. Ah the Source engine, its great, but its errors are fairly random, at least to me. #122 nurizeko, Feb 3, 2008 DarkWolf611 Guest Yup, i have the same problem many many others are having, ill go to play Half Life 2: Episode One, when i click start new game, its loads about 75%, then crashes giving me the infamous Internal Driver Error In IDirect3DDevice9:resent()error. What's your OS and whens the last time you've updated your drivers, oh and computer specs internal error would be a bonus. You could try installing ZP:S this way. Before installing Zombie Panic Source, make sure you've got both Half Life 2 and Source SDK Base installed. ( Quickly play HL2 in order to cache certain files you don't receive until you have loaded the game ) Source SDK Base is located in the Tools section tab. After both are installed, install ZP:S into the following directory C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods The directory could also be C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods After internal error half doing this restart your steam and everything should be working. Hopefully this helps.
