We disconnected the existing configuration database from the farm and created a new configuration database using the sharepoint products and technologies configuration wizzard. We created a new web application with blank site template and deleted the empty database from the content database from the web application. We attached the old content database to the web application. All the errors are gone and the links work now. Although it sounds like a lot it took about 10 minutes to do.Ray Marked as answer by Lambert Qin [秦磊] Thursday, March 04, 2010 5:45 AM Wednesday, March 03, 2010 8:42 PM Reply | Quote All replies 0 Sign in to vote Hi Roy, I found that you post a related issue here two month ago. http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/sharepointadmin/thread/de9d782f-d2d4-410b-a2be-5169b6edbd60. I did some initial research in our internal database, but could not find a constant cause to your issue. In order to know your issue better, I would like to ask you to help me to collect a SPSReport on your application server and send to the following workspace: Workspace URL:
all of the properties that belong to its contenttype Posted on June 10, 2011 by nsyyoung If a content type is added to a doc library and a file inside the library is changed to that content type, but its EditForm.aspx page doesn't show all of the properties that belong to the content type (1 or more columns are missing from the edit page), the content type IN THAT LIBRARY may be corrupted. Resolution: IN THAT LIBRARY (not in the Content Types Gallery): disassociate the affected files from the struggling content type (don’t delete any existing metadata); delete the content type; re-add it to the library; and change the content type of the disassociated files. https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/sharepoint/en-US/c38c1640-e397-4a8d-b66a-1355cbf5fd8f/error-with-sharepoint-services-timer?forum=sharepointadminlegacy The files should either appear where they're supposed to in the library (if metadata exists) or will be available for complete property editing. Does someone have a better solution? Posted in Errors, Miscellaneous, SharePoint | Leave a comment Javascript error in IE8 afterre-image Posted on June 10, 2011 by nsyyoung After my laptop was re-imaged, I couldn't get the drop-down menus on our SharePoint 2007 Intranet home page global navigation tabs to appear, https://nsyyoung.wordpress.com/category/sharepoint/ and a JavaScript error regarding the init.js file appeared in the status bar. Drop-downs were fine in Firefox, and on other people's machines. I opened SharePoint Designer and ran the Office Diagnostics. The report told me it identified a couple of issues and fixed them, and now my drop-downs are good in IE. I am duly impressed. Posted in Miscellaneous, SharePoint | Leave a comment There was an internal error invoking the timerjob… Posted on June 10, 2011 by nsyyoung Actually, there were a lot of them, each looking roughly like this: Event Type: Error Event Source: Windows SharePoint Services 3 Event Category: Timer Event ID: 6772 Date: 6/10/2011 Time: 2:30:01 PM User: N/A Computer: GFTB-QA-02V Description: There was an internal error invoking the timer job ‘{FD730E80-C470-4D92-B0E5-F57C98ABDF4A}' for service ‘{00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}'. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. Not only did that timer job not exist, don't you love what you get when you click that helpless link: No results were found for your query. Please see Search Help for suggestions. Growl. Long story short: of almost 200GB usable space, 5.11MB (yes, MB) was available. Check the available space on the database disk drive and call on your local SQL Superhero. In our case, the transaction log was bloated and needed truncat
without any found update, but installing the Microsoft Genuine Software ActiveX-Control. Maybe this was the problem?) So lets have http://www.tech-archive.net/Archive/SharePoint/microsoft.public.sharepoint.windowsservices/2007-09/msg00201.html a look at the Event Viewer: To begin: where NO errors occur: Nothing in INternet Explorer Nothing in Microsoft Office Diagnostigs Nothing in Microsoft Office Sessions Nothing in Security http://microphakia4.rssing.com/chan-3737905/all_p514.html Now come to the Application-Events: There are thousands of errors from the timer service. But they remote to the installation day. Event Category: Timer Event ID: 6398 Event internal error ID: 5215 Event ID: 6772 I've included these at the end FYI, but do not mind, they never came back. There is one error occurring once a day, when the MOSS-Backup should happen Event Category: Timer Event ID: 6398 This one is also included at the end. I will investigate the backup problem another time (its the internal error invoking task you say should be disabled). There are NO OTHER Application error messages. Only a warning from the Gatherer that the index is paused. Event Category: Gatherer Event ID: 2442 This occurres only when the backup (that does not conclude) happens. That seems obvious, for backup purposes. BUT in SYSTEM there is a one and only, ever occurring error 8 times in series every 10 minutes (800 times in two weeks) Always with the same content: Event Type: Error Event Source: DCOM Event Category: None Event ID: 10016 Date: 9/14/2007 Time: 11:53:44 AM User: NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE Computer: HYV2003R2ES1 Description: The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID {61738644-F196-11D0-9953-00C04FD919C1} to the user NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE SID (S-1-5-20). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. thats it. Question: What is this last COM-Error in System?? I've copie the detailed Error Messages below Best Regards, Henry --------------------------------------------------------------- **********************************************************
