Outlook 2010 and clients that receive an SSL Cert error upon loading a new or existing profile. This error appears as a Security Alert for mit.edu which notes “The application experienced an internal error http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/msoffice/forum/msoffice_excel-mso_winother/office-2010-documents-through-ssl/a6eb2d7b-5696-49a4-adc8-90f8d74b817a loading the SSL libraries. This site should not be trusted.” There is no actual problem with the certificate returned. This is an issue with Outlook’s AutoDiscover process. Example: Verbose: This alert is due to a change in Outlook client behavior with Windows 8.x and Outlook 2013 although reports have surfaced from clients running Outlook 2016 and Outlook 2010. In all cases, a registry fix can be applied which http://kb.mit.edu/confluence/display/istcontrib/Outlook+2016,+2013+and+2010+SSL+Cert+Solution removes the invalid connection attempt that generates this error. The connection attempt is made concurrently with other Exchange AutoDiscover protocol queries and exempting this request does not impact the security or usability of Outlook or the Exchange platform for email. Biggest problem here for me is that https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/592097-having-trouble-with-outlook-ssl-libraries everyone is running home and business office software and we dont have anything like Active Directory here or a true server sort of thing for me to manage. I'm basically managing computers individually. With that said, here's my question and issue. I'm having trouble with 2 machines that just out of the blue (or so I was told of course) are receiving the "The application experienced an internal error loading the SSL libraries" error when they open outlook. They can internal error still receive their emails after they click 'ok' on the error but the problem of course is the error and I know there is a fix for it. I wish I had the luxury of having a server but unfortunately I'm managing computers individually here. Is there an easy solution here? any help is greatly appreciated Reply Subscribe View Best Answer RELATED TOPICS: Outlook pop-up ssl.gstatic.com   8 Replies Habanero OP Sean Wolsey Sep 25, 2014 at internal error loading 4:27 UTC It sounds like the .DLL files that Outlook uses for SSL communication may have corrupted. It still works because they are using non-secure communication. Try re-loading (repair in Programs and Features) Office over itself. Doing this should retain the license and activation info. 0 Jalapeno OP Best Answer Drew8489 Sep 25, 2014 at 4:49 UTC This quick registry edit will get you fixed up. http://kb.mit.edu/confluence/display/istcontrib/Outlook+2013+and+2010+SSL+Cert+Solution Drew 0 Pimiento OP jonathanrizo Sep 25, 2014 at 4:51 UTC I tried using this repair function and the problem persists. I did however right-click properties for Outlook and did find a profile that was "account unknown" and such. I'm afraid that if I delete this user it will make things even worse. Not sure where to go from here now. 0 Pimiento OP jonathanrizo Sep 25, 2014 at 4:53 UTC Drew, is this not just a mask for the issue and not a 'fix'? I don't want to mask the problem but rather find a true solution to the error. 0 Jalapeno OP Drew8489 Sep 25, 2014 at 5:06 UTC Outlook makes several, concurrent attempts to verify a SSL. This fix removes the single method that is failing and will not reduce your security. I had the same issue for a couple of days and this was the method I used to fix it. 0 Pimient
