Ksymoops Example
I've got a problem with one of the serial ports on an embedded development. /dev/ttyS0, /dev/ttyS2, and /dev/ttyS3 all work fine with no problems. But in some cases accessing /dev/ttyS1 throws the following two 'oops' messages. I've no idea where to even start tracking down the cause of this, can you help? 1st Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 0000013c pgd = c0004000 [0000013c] *pgd=00000000 stopped internal error: oops: 17 [#1] smp arm custom tracer. The thing is that I tried to reproduce this bug using version 3.4.12+ built from sunxi-3.4 (former linux-sunxi-3.4) + sun4i_defconfig and the usb hdd I happen to have on my table does not cause any problems. The hardware is mk802 with 1GB. apxii commented Oct 13, 2012 My .config is at http://pastebin.com/HVkup5Q9 I also have some changes is kernel (all in rtl8912cu driver): Allow the driver to compile: apxii@7fea174 and disable debug messages that fills up dmesg quickly apxii@ffdeaf7 Free/Open Source Software for Allwinner SoCs (A10/A13/A10s/A20/A31/...) member amery commented Oct 13, 2012 please try disabling CONFIG_USB_GADGET, that's known to be broken (#29) apxii co
