Internal Error Resource Does Not Start With Root
root Date: Wed, 5 Apr 2006 09:39:52 -0700 This is probably not the correct place for this question, but I'm getting nowhere. I have CVS 1.12.13 on AIX 5.3, several clients using TortoiseCVS 1.8.25 and several clients using WSAD 5.1.2 (Eclipse 2.1.3). I upgraded to 1.12.13 to gain functionality for Tortoise clients, but the Eclipse clients now receive the following error when trying to check out a module: "Internal error, resource does not start with root" I cannot change the Eclipse version. I could change CVS back to 1.11 but I really hope there is another option. reply via email to [Prev in Thread] Current Thread [Next in Thread] Removing all locks, k . rogiers, 2006/04/05 Re: Removing all locks, Jim Hyslop, 2006/04/05 Internal error, resource does not start with root, Shawn Matlock<= Re: Internal error, resource does not start with root, Jim Hyslop, 2006/04/05 Re: Removing all locks, Larry Jones, 2006/04/05 Prev by Date: Re: Removing all locks Next by Date: Greetings, Previous by thread: Re: Removing all locks Next by thread: Re: Internal error, resource does not start with root Index(es): Date Thread

There doesn't seem to be many issues if a module is already available locally (ie. for commits, etc) but https://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/t/94898/ you cannot "checkout" a module from scratch - the error is: "Internal error, resource does not start with root" I have done some investigation, and found the following: "Now, paths in server responses are not full paths including the CVS root any more. Instead relative paths are used, starting at the CVS root." Does anybody know if this new CVS version will be supported in Eclipse, and if so, roughly when it could be expected? If you want to use the CVS 1.12.10 feature release, I would suggest upgrading to Eclipse 3.1. If you cannot upgrade to Eclipse 3.1, then I would recommend reverting to the latest CVS stable release (1.11.20 at the time or wri

You'll have to choose whom to please - yourTortoise users, or your Eclipse users (to me, the choice is obvious - atleast 1.11 works for Tortoise, whereas 1.12 doesn't work for Eclipse).- --Jim HyslopDreampossible: Better software.
