and now when I try to run the upgrade assistant it just gives the error as “Internal Error:Error retrieving the scan report” and it doesn’t allow to the next step, so basically I am not able to upgrade at all. What should I do for this problem? How to fix this now? Reply With Quote 27-02-201301:24 AM #2 Support Array Join Date Nov 2012 Posts 850 Re: Fix for Windows 8 upgrade assistant internal error? This error can show up for various reasons when you are trying to run the upgrade assistant for Windows 8, just go through the below points which are mentioned and try if that fix the issue, -> If you have some external devices connected to your system http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-windows_install/windows-8-upgrade-assistant-internal-error-error/cdce9a01-963a-4bdd-93f5-b00a08810ef7 then try to remove all those from your system and then try doing the setup. -> If you have installed Microsoft Office 2013 (preview) setup already then remove that application completely from your system. -> Also remove Tuneup tools, Internet or virus security suites, Daemon tools which are system level. -> If the above points didn't help then try to navigate to the folder called \Windows\Panther and just delete or rename the folder and restart and check with the upgrade http://windows8search.com/forum/fix-windows-8-upgrade-assistant-internal-error-2325.html assistant again which should probably be working now.
