I just upgraded to Samba v3.6.4 on Solaris 10 (previously running v3.5.12). After the upgrade, I found that nothing was being logged to my syslog host anymore, so I started playing around with the "log level" setting. I ended up discovering a crash bug that is triggered by setting "log level = 3" and attempting to connect to the share. I have attached my redacted smb.conf, log file, and GDB backtrace. I don't know if the problem is related, but https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1573181 I still would like to get syslog logging working too! :) Let me know if there is more information needed. Quote Postby periko » 2008/02/27 00:29:28 https://sourceforge.net/p/netatalk/bugs/414/ Hi we have 1 PDC running Gentoo with samba 3.0.24 + LDAP, everything is working, each windows machine can access the network, shares, etc, the internal error problem we have is with the new server runningcentos 5.1 with samba 3.0.25b, we try to join to the domain this server with some issues but was add, is not the only linux box we have in this domain, and since we setup this server we have been having problems, this server internal error signal is inside a vm(vmware server 1.0.4) without any issues. The problem is this, we enable the roaming profile stuff for our windows users, and sometimes we lost the profile, others if the user update some files, next day he or she try to update the file the information is not there, etc. Now look this errors: auth/auth.c:check_ntlm_password(221) check_ntlm_password: Checking password for unmapped user [domain]\[userx]@[userx] with the new password interface : 1 Time(s) auth/auth.c:check_ntlm_password(221) check_ntlm_password: Checking password for unmapped user []\[]@[userx] with the new password interface : 1 Time(s) auth/auth.c:check_ntlm_password(224) check_ntlm_password: mapped user is: [domain]\[]@[userx] : 1 Time(s) auth/auth.c:check_ntlm_password(224) check_ntlm_password: mapped user is: [domain]\[userx]@[userx] : 1 Time(s) auth/auth.c:check_ntlm_password(270) check_ntlm_password: guest authentication for user [] succeeded : 1 Time(s) auth/auth.c:check_ntlm_password(270) check_ntlm_password: winbind authentication for user [userx] succeeded : 1 Time(s) auth/auth.c:check_ntlm_password(309) check_ntlm_password: authentication for user [userx] -> [userx] -> [userx] succeeded : 1 Time(s) auth/auth_util.c:create_builtin_administrators(792) create_builtin_administrators: Failed to create Administrators : 2 Time(s) auth/auth_util.c:creat
