the information I needed. Then I added a row to one of the tables and realized that the pivot-table did not update, then that one of the dimensions did no longer process. The database is one which is only used by me at the moment.. even by undoing my modification in the data table I could not process the cube any more. an error occurred while processing the partition of the measure group for the cube from the database The onlyerror messages I get are without any information: Internal error: The operation terminated unsuccessfully. Server: The operation has been cancelled. OLE DB error: OLE DB or ODBC error: Operation canceled; HY008. First I don't understand what can have happened to my cube, then I do need help urgently. I already searched the web for hours, but all the hints I found, did not work. I deleted the database in the analysis server, I renamed the db-folder, so that it was recreated, I deleted the cube and rebuilt it, I deleted the dimensions (and all the work in them), I even created a completely new project without getting rid of these damn errors. Now after hours of fussing around with only the a. m. errors, I made a redesign on one of my datatables, and now I get lots of messages like this on top: Errors in the OLAP storage engine: An error occurred while the 'xxx' attribute of the ' yyy' dimension from the 'zzz' database was being processed. I do hope there are people out there who know (and tell) ho

I'm creating a dimension using the DimDate table. To simplify things I'm using only the http://dba.stackexchange.com/questions/1516/ssas-dimensions-hierarchy-causes-deployment-errors Calendar Quarter, Calendar Year, Day Number of Month, English Month Name, and the Date Key columns. Each of these attributes have been set to AttributeHierarchyVisible = False. I dragged the Calendar Year into Hierarchies followed by calendar Quarter, English Month Name, Day Number of month. I set the attribute Relationships to Date Key -> Day Number Of Month -> English Month Name-> Calendar Quarter -> Calendar Year All relationships are set to rigid. When I try to deploy this set up I get the following errors: Error 2 Internal error: The operation terminated unsuccessfully. 0 0 Error 3 Server: The current operation was cancelled because another operation in the transaction failed. 0 0 I also receive this warning Warning 1 Errors in the OLAP storage engine: A duplicate attribute key has been found when processing: Table: 'dbo_DimDate', Column: 'CalendarQuarter', Value: '2'. The attribute is 'Calendar Quarter'. 0 0 I can't figure out what is going on or why this is erroring. The book I'm using gave me the steps listed above and Goggle has failed me thus far (a very scary thing). Any help you guys can give to help me figure out what I'm doing wrong wou

See what roles it has, probably only public checked. Mark everything else. Since you set up 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE' to be a default service account, you can give it more rights that public.
