import pics: The ODBC data source reported the following error: (internal error: data not found) Followed by another window that states nothing was imported. I tried several times to follow Troush's suggestion to recover the catalog, http://digitalscrapperclasses.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-1822.html but it gets to 66% and locks up. I have to control-alt-delete. It says it's not responding so I close it. I am working on a Windows XP. I went into the add/remove programs on my control panel to repair PSE 5.0, but this doesn't seem to make a difference. I have uninstalled & reinstalled but it still locks up @ 66%. I don't know what else to do... troush08-30-2007, 08:12 PMBarbara, internal error Sometimes it looks like it's locked up at 66%, but it's not really - even task manager will say it's locked, but if you let it run overnight, it eventually finishes. -Trish barbieos09-01-2007, 07:52 PMThank you. I'll try it... barbieos09-03-2007, 11:05 AMThank you. It worked & the catalog is working fine now. Is there a limit to how many files you should have in one catalog? I didn't know until recently that internal error while you could have more than one. Is it safest to stay under 10,000 images or less than that? troush09-03-2007, 04:15 PMBarb, I don't recommend having multiple catalogs as you can't search across more than one. Or, if you put something in the "wrong" catalog, there is no easy way to move it to the right catalog. That said, you can have multiple catalogs, and there are people that have one for their kits and one for their photos. It's just when you do a Save from the Editor, it saves to whatever catalog is currently open, or the last one opened if you haven't opened the Organizer. I would do a File->Catalog->Recover just before you close the organizer every time. This will do some database maintenance and cleanup that should keep it running smoothly. -Trish Patty D09-03-2007, 11:30 PMI have a scrapbook supplies catalog and a photo catalog. It does take some getting used to to make sure everything goes in the right catalog but it's worth it. Currently I have more than 22,000 items in my scrapbook supplies organizer and it works great as long as I don't save any PSD scrapbook pages in it. Patty barbieos09-15-2007, 06:29 PMThank you.
