and working correctly. About a week later, when going to a site that requires Java, she's prompted to install it. When I try to install it I download the latest version (V6U23) and I get and the error: "Internal Error 2753: regutils.dll" This happens with either the online or offline install option. Google says that this could be an issue with older versions of Java but there is no older version listed in Programs and Features. But IE has a plug-in for Java. Also, there is nothing about this on Java's site. I'm not sure if this is a Windows thing or Java, since it seems that the 2753 error has shown up for other, non-Java, installs. Have you tried doing a registry cleanup and then installing again? Or installing in another admin account? 0 Anaheim OP DogFacedGod Feb 4, 2011 at 3:45 UTC I got it. I tried a registry cleanup utility like you suggested but that didn't work. But I then did a search for "Java" in the registry and deleted the keys that referenced any install file. (After backing up the reg of course). Then Java installed fine. Weird. Thanks for the push in the right direction! 0 Pimiento OP kimsland Nov 26, 2011 at 7:09 UTC 1st Post Installing Java Click HERE to update Java You can find out why you need to update Java H

Trying to uninstall, I get the internal error 2753 Reg Utils error message. I used the Windows installer cleanup utility to get rid of it however in Program files > Java, there is still a http://discussions.virtualdr.com/showthread.php?244612-RESOLVED-Java-internal-error-2753 folder named Jre1.6.0_07 which I assume is update 7. Would this this be safe to remove? Also I'm sure there are scads of regestry entries associated with it But I'd rather nor fool with that. Thank you, Chuck Desktop: Dell I620. Leave manual deletion as an absolute last resort when nothing else will work. Nick.
